Obituary of Adeline W. Treiber

Adeline W. Treiber, 87, of Iowa City, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Manor Care Health Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. Memorial donations can be made in Adeline's memory to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Adeline W. Dommer was born May 8, 1925, in Craig, Iowa the daughter of Herman and Amelia (Gerdes) Dommer. She married Glenn W. Treiber on January 15, 1944, in Craig. In 1964 the couple moved to Iowa City where for over twenty three years Adeline worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics retiring in 1987. She had been a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church here in Iowa City since the mid 1960's. Adeline was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, she loved to fish, garden, golf and sew, all done with zest and passion! Her family includes daughters, Sharon (Larry) Molzen of Hinton, IA and Patricia Treiber of Cedar Rapids, IA; sons, Richard Treiber of Iowa City, IA, Daniel (Sally) Treiber of Marion, IA and Charles (Terri) Treiber of Fountain Hills, AZ; as well as 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glenn (12/31/2011); two brothers, Fred and Edward Dommer and her sister, Catherine Kock.
