Wilma Lois Inscho was born September 7, 1927, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Elza Lloyd and Anna Mary (Hoffman) Inscho. Following graduation from high school she attended Northwest Missouri State University. She was united in marriage to Norbert Meyer on August 16, 1948, in St. Joseph, MO. The couple moved to Iowa City and here they raised their family. Lois worked for ACT and she was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, God's Helping Hands, and the Altar & Rosary Society of the church.
Lois and Norb raised 10 children in a loving home that some referred to as organized chaos. To her family, Lois was the fairest, kindest, most gracious and patient lady that you could ever know. She was small but mighty. She always made each of her children feel they were her favorite, and as the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, they were the favorites, too. She always had nothing but good to say about others, and was most proud of her family. She so loved being "Mom".
Her family includes her husband, Norbert; their children, Nancy Tomas (Gary) of Solon, Michael Meyer (Virginia) Lone Tree, David Meyer (Michelle) of Reston, VA, Bruce Meyer (Diane) of Marion, Janet Mahon of Solon, Mark Meyer of Marion, Brian Meyer (Kathy) of Iowa City, Linda Meyer (Ed Teagle) of Iowa City, Sandy Donielson (Eric) of West Des Moines, and Susan Godwin (Douglas) of Ankeny; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Vincent Derks, Mary Ann Meyer, and Katie Inscho.
