Jasmine & Laurie,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your grandfather/father. Despite how I entered your life, your grandfather was always kind to me and tried to include me and make me feel welcome when I visited your house. Even after I divorced Jasmine's dad....he always had kind words for me and let me know that I was welcome in your lives. I know how hard it must be for you to lose him, but know that he is now with the love of his life and finally free of illness and pain. May he rest in peace and view you as an angel to watch over you in your lives. God Bless.
Sorry to hear of Richard's passing. He was such a nice, friendly man. I remember him attending so many men's league softball games/tourneys up at Pennway Park. He always had a smile on his face and a greeting to give. He will be missed so very much by all who knew him.

To all of the Benner Children and their families. Sorry to hear about your dad's and grandfather's passing. I know the feeling of loss since my dad died even though it was 20 years ago, sometimes it seems as if it were just yesterday. It does get easier as time goes by, the sense of loss is gradually lessened by the remembrance of good times shared growing up. Little things that had been forgotten will pop into your head and the next thing you know you are calling each other to share the memory. Growing up we were like brothers and sisters, kinda hard not to feel that way since we only lived across the park from each other or next door, but as we grew up we lost touch but always seem to run into each other now and again. R.I.P Mr. "Abe" ! You will be missed!
So sorry for the loss of ABE! My dad (George Knottnerus) and Abe worked many years together at the City Of Iowa City. Abe all ways had that big grin on his face when ever I was around. I remember one winter day when Abe was plowing snow in front of the homestead. My dad looked out side to see a big pile of snow in our drive way. My dads response was ' That dang Abe is in deep S&^% now'.. I laughed so hard! Never a dull moment when those two were together! Abe you will be greatly missed! RIP my friend! Prayers sent too family.
