Obituary of Sally P. Randle

Sally P. Smith was born September 7, 1940, in Doddsville, Mississippi to the late Joe Lee and Eddie Mae Smith. Having relocated to Chicago, Illinois, in her adult years, she was joined in holy matrimony to Lauree Randle. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. She was loving, caring and very hard working throughout her life. She was well known throughout her community, both Chicago and North Liberty, Iowa, where she moved to after the death of her daughter twelve years ago. She was known to many as "Moma" and others as "Sis". Being around her was always a pleasure and honor. She loved the company of her family and friends. She had been sick for a while but still smiled and never complained. Her warm comforting voice and smile will be cherished and missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Lauree Randle, only child Diane P. Smith, three sisters; Dorothy Smith, Jennie Mae Curry, and Willie Lee; and seven brothers, James, Lucillious, Ellis Eddie Lee, Cedric, Clifton, Willie Lee Smith, and Joe Pete Harris. Sally departed this life on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 12:19 p.m., in her home, surrounded by loved ones. Sally leaves to cherish; one uncle Flem Ross, of St. Louis, Missouri; one aunt Earnestine Smith-Wilson, of Oklahoma; four sisters, Elizabeth B. Brown (Charles) of Missouri, Flora Jean Smith, Carlean Young (Roy) both of Chicago, Illinois, and Jewell Bobbie Youngblood (Solomon) of Eatonton, California; four brothers, Joe Lee Smith Jr. (Stella), Sylvester Smith (Debra), Melvin Smith all of Chicago, Illinois, and Jimmie Lee Harris of Elkhart, Indiana; two granddaughters, Tia Belton (Aaron), and Larisha Spencer, both of Iowa; Five great-grandchildren, Lakendra Nichols, Chanté and Charles Williams, G'Niyah Corbett, and Braydon Shields all of Iowa; One great-great-granddaughter, Makyah Clemons (Apple) and one Godson, Logan Bishop; two special friends, Willie Burns and Pearl Terry, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
