Condolences
To the family of Dave,
May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared comfort you now and in the days ahead
Kevin, Gregg, Randy, and Kory,
Dave and Wyonna were my parents closest friends. I can't think of a finer couple. Dave was a true gentleman. So sorry for your loss.
My sincere condolences to your family on the loss
of your husband, father, grandfather, and all other Hartwig family members.
I've had so much in common with your family,my dad was 55 years in the car business, and like Dave, a man of integrity, solid communicator,a great
smile and a strikingly similar recededing hair-line and stood almost as tall!
Having worked in your organization for a few short years did not keep me from discovering his greatest attributes,he was very easy to read
and very, very likeable. I hope you can celebrate your memories as a family as you grieve
in this loss. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Sincerely, Mark Huisenga
When we lose someone it is so hard. The memories are so fresh. Remember to laugh at funny moments, look at pictures and talk about your dad. He will always be with each of you. When something happens that is unexplained, he is there, helping, guiding and loving you always. I know he was a great man, because of the family he raised. Keep his memory alive in your family forever. Sarah
I HAD THE PLEASURE OF KNOWING DAVE THROUGH HARTWIG MOTORS. HE WOULD COME INTO THE SHOWROOM WEARING A HAT AND THAT "FAMOUS" SMILE. WHAT A KIND MAN. MARNA PARKER
our warmest hugs and sympathy surround each of you today, and always.
Kenny and Linda Fobian and family.
Gregg, Angie and family, so sorry to hear of your dads passing! Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
Dick and I send our deepest sympathies to your family. Dave and sons were so supportive of the Iowa City community and Dick always appreciated their support of the Iowa City Road Races.
David and his family hired me as a mechanic in 1982 and during the more than 20 years of working for them I always felt like a member of the family.
You have our deepest sympathy. From everybody at Wayne Hall Chrysler.
To the Hartwig Familly,
I will always be grateful for the education, patience and friendship that Dave and the entire Hartwig family provided to me when I was a young dealership employee. Dave set a fine example and he will be missed by the community and by the many people whose lives he influenced.
You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. God Bless You.
Dear Wyonna & family,
I want you all to know how deeply sorry iam to hear about dave's passing . He was such a wonderful man and had the biggest smile i have ever seen. He always looked like he just stepped out of a magazine and how they complimented oneanother whenever i would run into them at legacy . Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time of sorrow. I wish i was able to attend the visitation but i have been down sick for close to a week and just cant get out . Hang in there wyonna hes no longer in pain and is at peace . God bless you all .

I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Dave Hartwig on his passing. He was a good man and will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.
Wyonna, Kevin, Randy, Gregg, Marc.
Dave was a good man. He raised a great family. built a great business and contributed much to a great community. I'm sorry for your personal loss.
please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.
To Wyonna and the entire Harwig Family, our thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult times. Iowa City lost a great citizen, business leader and above all, a fine human being. Our business relationship and our friendship began in 1967. One never needed Dave's signature on any document, as his word was always plenty. He always went above and beyond in dealing with the public.
For those of you left behind, always remember that big smile, a nod of the head and that hearty laugh. My memories of Dave come from both sides of the desk. As a customer at Hartwig Motors and from the Banking industry, where Dave was a Director and a loyal customer.
We're sorry we will not be there this week, however, we'll be thinking of you.....
Sincerely,
Shari and Ralph Radcliff

I wish to send my sincere sympathy to the Hartwig family. I especially want Kevin and Anita to know that I am thinking of them during this loss.
Please know that you and your family are in my prayers and thoughts.
This time of year especially, I expect to step outside my back door and see Dave leaning on his rake after making many small piles of colorful leaves. Always smiling and ready for a friendly chat. I miss you and Wynonna. The neighborhood, (from my vantage point), has not been the same. I miss seeing the never ending display of new cars as well as the never ending trail of family & friends coming to your home. Life in all it's forms continues and, I know Dave is now on the golf course knocking in another hole in one! God speed good friend and God bless you Wynonna and family.
