Condolences
Much love goes out to the memory of my New Jersey Mom and to her family that she cherished. When her daughter, Adrienne Wing and I were in college, she was my local Mom. It was too expensive to go home to Texas for Thanksgiving and many other holidays, so she "adopted" me. I will always cherish those memories. I'm sure that my Mom, Eloise Mitchell and Mrs. Wing are in heaven sharing some smiles about their oldest daughters. Both of them were teachers and influenced many, many young people during their lives. They were tremendous role models for us and many others. Thank you Mom Wing for touching my life! Love to the extended Wing clan.
I will always miss Katherine. She brought joy to my day. I am deeply sorry to see her go.
I met Mrs Wing at an academic conference two years ago. She was attending a panel on women and the law that was led by her amazing daughter. Mrs Wing sat next to Adrien's life partner, James Sommerville, and listened attentively as all participants spoke. At the end of the program I approached them to say hello and as we shook hands Mrs Wing asked for my opinion on the points discussed. When I asked for hers, she replied that despite much progress, much remains to be done. What a great spirit! She, Adrien, and James drove later that day to Oceanside and surrounding areas to visit the places where they had lived.
Adrian: I feel like we have all come to.know what a fine woman and mother she was from your very intimate and moving postings you have provided us on Facebook with. I am deeply sorry for your loss, but know that with all the wonderful memories she has provided you with, it will be a not a lifetime of sorrow, but of joy knowing she is at rest and peace forever. Your friends in Iowa City are here for you.
May you rest in eternal peace.

I am glad I had the honor of meeting you. Even in your later years I saw the passion you had for education, having the opportunity on more than one occasion to correct my grammar. Although I only had the opportunity to meet Adrien I know you were a great mother that did an excellent job raising your children. I enjoyed hearing your stories about them and also about your own life growing up out East. I know you are in a better place now, but know you are missed by many here.
Mrs. Wing, Thank you for your patience. We were a spirited bunch! It never seemed to phase you. Rest peacefully
Mrs. Wing was a wonderful teacher, who always pushed me to "do better, because I know you can." I have many fond memories of her, and today I'm a freelance writer for horror & science fiction magazines.
Mrs. Wing, in addition to being a fun person, as I remember you from Science High, is also a great educator. You're resting peacefully, bless you, your family and loved ones. I'll probably hear from you about my sentence structure.
