Condolences
Steve...I didn't realize that today was the anniversary of Emily's passing, but did think of her when I saw you at Goodwill today, and then surprised to get home and get the memorial email from Gay & Ciha. So.. my heart goes out to you today, and maybe I can add my wish for you both to have a time of memory and of healing. I'm off in a couple of days to see my granddaughter again, and keep house for the family for three weeks. I didn't tell you that Linnea was born thirteen weeks premature on Oct. 2, and had been there for her early birth. She had heart surgery on Monday, and is doing OK, just topped two pounds in weight. Now need to get lung function up on her own. I'll be returning to choir on the 18th, I hope. My thoughts are with you tonight. don
I am thinking of Emily's family and friends on this anniversary. My heart goes out to all of you.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Emilys loved ones.
Emily was such a wonderful spirit, so artistic and I always enjoyed talking with her about almost everything, We graduated from City High together and I could always remember her as the other "Emily" who brought a big smile to my face because she was confident in who she was and she was so unique. May her legacy still live on.

Lora, Steve, Ben and family, I am grieved by the loss of Emily. She was taken from us at far too young an age. She had a dedication to her pursits that many never realize in their lifetimes. For the time that she did have, she lived a life-times worth and has left an equal number of memories to cherish.
My heart goes out to you and your family Steve. You are all in my prayers.
Steve and Emily are part of my earliest memories of Iowa City as Emily helped her dad stock coffee while I delivered bread to New Pi. I am so very sad to hear of her death. It is a loss so great as to be nearly inconceivable..
My heart goes out to the parents and family of Emily. To loose a child at such a young age is a pain no parent should ever have to suffer. Rest in peace Emily.
I am a cello teacher at the Preucil School. I didn't personally teach Emily but we consider all students that come through to be a part of the "family". On behalf of the Preucil school family, we are so sorry for your loss.
Dear Steve, Lora and extended loved ones,
My heart goes out to you all with the loss of Emily. What a joy this child and young woman brought to your lives.
(Daughter) Adriane and I reminisced about their early formative years @ Horace Mann. Adriane is quite certain it was Emily who turned her on to the Beatles (1993) and how they loved to line up their stuff animals and "perform concerts" for them. Emily's life was made rich by the fact that she saw beauty in all and everything around her. Our lives were made richer by knowing her. We look forward to joining you in the celebration of her life.
There are no words that can express the sadness of losing Emily. I did not know her, but she sounds like an amazing person and her death is a tragedy. I send my sincerest condolences to her family and friends and I'm sure she will live on in all the people whose lives she touched.
Dear Steve and Lora,
I was sad to learn of your daughters passing. From what I read she was certainly accomplished. I know you will miss the woman that she was becoming.
Sincerely
Judy Atkins
It was devastating to learn of your death. The world has lost a lot---a person with a big heart, creative mind, generous and humble spirit, and tremendous potential and originality as an artist and musician, as well as someone who brought so much good into so many people's lives as a friend and colleague.
I didn't know Emily that well but that doesn't matter. I do know that the world lost a very kind, talented woman. She already proved that she was very talented in the ways of art. It's sad that more people didn't get to see that. RIP Emily, you will be missed.
I remember Emily from City HIgh School as a sweet and talented person. I am sorry she left us so soon.
We are heartbroken for your family. We were so saddened at the news of Emily's death. Although we did not know Emily, we felt as tho we did because of all the many lifetime achievements her grandmother Dorothy would always tell us because she was so very proud of her. Our prayers, thoughts, and love are with your family. Max, Sherry and Sydney
I did not know Emily, but I would like to send my condolences to her family. I graduated from St.Edwards and it was sad to hear on the news a fellow Hilltopper passed away. I wish the family comfort and peace during this most difficult time.
I am so sorry for the loss of such a beautiful lady. Emily was a great friend and a great artist. She helped me out a lot when we lived together. Every so often we would go to college green to sun bathe and I always thought she couldn't tan because she stayed so pale. Then she moves to austin and gets one heck of a tan. Such a funny girl.
My heart aches and tears flow today for the loss of Emily Marie Palmer. For over three years she was my son's high school sweetheart. They went their separate ways remaining friends. Emily was at our house everyday, since we lived right across from CIty High in Iowa City. She was like a daughter to me and I loved her dearly. Her tragic fatal car accident is unfathomable. The world has lost a talented beautiful young woman. My deepest condolences to her family. I can not even begin to imagine the depths of her loss to them. Goodbye sweetest angel, life is so unfair.
Steve and Lora..So sorry for your loss, almost beyond comprehension. My thoughts and prayers to your family. If there is any way I can help, deliveries, etc. this week, please let me know. I'm free all week. Again, sincere condolences from us. Don
