Condolences
Family and friends of Mark,
I am extremly sorry to hear of the passing of Mark. Your father, our friend will be greatly missed by all. Mark an I were classmates starting back in Roosevelt elementary school. After high school my memories of Mark are from our visits during class reunions. His disarming smile and easy nature seemed to melt away years spent apart. It was always great catching up with him. "Tap" you have not really left...our memories of you will stay with us forever.
Very sorry to hear about Mark's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Great memories of Mark not only from high school, but from all the class reunions since. Always ready to help and always ready to have fun!
To Mark's siblings,
We are very sorry for your loss. May life be brighter for Mark as he is in a better place. You are in our thoughts and prayers. With deepest sympathy.
Carl and Judy
Mark, I have known you since High School, Alway's enjoyed seeing you around town or the day's I would be on the dock at work and you would jump out of the Truck and yell over the noise to say Hi, sometimes, you would have a longer story to tell, so would climb up the ladder and talk for few minutes, I could often hear you laughing near the office, You were very proud of your boys, Family was an often topic. You will be missed !
Tappan family,
So sorry to hear about Mark passing. I remember Mark from grade school at Roosevelt. He was always a nice kid, kind of lost track with Mark after that. Also my sister Terri was a friend of Becky. I remember going to their house to drop Terri off or pick Becky up. I always remember where the Tappans lived off of highway 1, when driving by on the way to Kalona. I know he will be missed so much by family and friends. I am so sorry for you loss!! Sherri Hills Harding.
Tap was an exceptional cook! He always had something good stewing on his stove. He introduced us to his corned beef and cabbage which was his specialty for St. Patrick's. He also made good chili and would prepare a pork loin that was super yummy. Just one of his many talents..... I know his family cherishes the same good memories. Thoughts and prayers to siblings and children.
Tap was like the brother I never had, but always wished for. He was good people. He was a very good friend. He was always helpful....if you ever helped him with something he would always return the favor. He made me laugh and I loved our lengthy conversations. I particularly remember how happy he was when him and Mary were together. He was VERY proud of his avid turkey hunting and I actually had the pleasure of accompanying him to an event along with his son Michael. He was VERY proud of his talented boys and spoke of them frequently. My family and I will never forget him. He will be greatly missed!
Dennis & I knew Mark from high school. The class of 1976 had many memorable times. Mark was part of them, football games, parties & good friends. Mark was part of our reunions & always up for fun. It is difficult to hear about friends passing at such a young age. Rest in peace Tap!
My deepest sympathies to the Tappan family. Mark and I were classmates at ICWHS. Mark was such a kind person and I can clearly picture his wonderful smile.
Our thought and prayers go out to the Tappan family.
Sending you my deepest sympathy & keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Mark was like a brother to me I will miss hearing his laugh and seeing him. Love you all, Mush
To the family, so saddened by Mark's passing. He was a good friend from high school. He was so willing to help out wherever needed.. We remember him running the grill at one of the class reunions. We always had fun when he was around. RIP Mark.
To the Tappan family and the rest of our class-So sorry to hear of Mark's passing. His smile and stories were really something. For our class reunions if there was any mention of golf or need for help he was there! Hope the memories help the sorrow you share now. Sandy
Mark is a great friend, good neighbor, and co-worker. As a neighbor, Mark always was willing to give a helping hand. We both were building new homes about the same time, and helpedme level the yard with his tractor. His stories will be missed. He was very proud of his boys. I will greatly miss running into him with his warm smile and friendly conversations. Larry Mooney
I am so sorry for your loss. Mark will be missed by us all.
Susan and I are so saddened by the news . Susan and I were close classmates of his back in high school.I first became friends with "Tap" as I called him in junior high football on the line .We were both tackles, Mark on the right ,myself on the left . He was always a true and loyal friend to the core (often hard to find these days ). We had some great times . We shared are taste for the outdoors ,fishing and hunting. I last saw Mark at the last reunion (downtown Iowa city bar )and started in talking just as if it was yesterday. I remember laughing till my jaw muscles hurt .Tried on more than one occasion to get him out here to lake erie to fish the big walleyes but sadly it just never happened . Susan and I will miss him greatly. He was the salt of the earth and a friend to everyone he knew . I will truly miss Tap . Jeff and Susan Noble
Andy, James, and Michael. I am so sad to hear of Marks passing. I worked at the University with Mark for years. But more than that he used to bring you boys to my pond fishing. I dont know how much you all remember of this, but I do remember how important you were to him. He was so proud of you boys and loved talking about you and spending time fishing with you. I know I have great memories of him spending time with you, and hope you find comfort in that also. Carolyn
