Obituary of Carl Eugene McKean

Carl E. “Butch” McKean, 74, of rural Conesville, died Sunday, May 8, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Services celebrating his life will be held at 10 am Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Conesville United Church of Christ. Private family burial services will be at the Conesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in his memory to Conesville United Church of Christ or Conesville Fire Department. Carl Eugene McKean, was born May 2, 1942, in rural Louisa County, Iowa the son of Clark and Helen Elaine (Richardson) McKean. He attended Columbus Junction Schools, graduating from Columbus Junction High School with the Class of 1960. Butch was united in marriage to Nancy Ann Taylor on December 31, 2003 while in Florida. His life was his family and his farm. He enjoyed hunting and the simple things in life. His family includes his mother, Elaine McKean; his wife, Nancy; their children, Wendy Moreland (Bill), Crystal O’Toole (Brad Sprenger), Lance McKean (Melissa), Kelly Good (Mike), Sara Kinion (Rob), and Doug Taylor (Lori); grandchildren, Jessica Thomas, Justin Thomas, Timothy O’Toole (Ashton), Tiffany O’Toole, Tyler O’Toole (Tori), Brandan McKean (Julie), Rush McKean (Shelly), Kenneth McKean (Jade), Trisha Greiner (Bobby), Nathan Erwin (Sarah), Kendall Erwin, Michael Good, Sarah Good, Ariel Washington, Deshay Washington, Joshua Kinion, DeShawn Washington, Cheyenne Kinion, Nichole Moran, Cody Taylor (Kay), Neil Taylor, Megan Cadogan (Jason) and Ryan Walker; great grandchildren, Trenton McKean, Trevor McKean, Sage McKean, Deveny McKean, Michael “JoJo” Greiner, Hayden Erwin, Tierney Moran, Beckett Moran, Declan Cadogan, Aislinn Cadogan, Hannah Taylor and Owen Taylor Taylor; Butch’s sisters, Sandra Tallent (Don), Merry Herrick, and Virginia “Gin” Hetzler (Joel). Butch was preceded in death by his father, Clark; brother, Clark Jr., daughter, Beth Walker, and great-grandson, Eldon D. McKean.
