Condolences
Dear Francis and Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful brother. Each time I heard of story of Uncle John it was always with the sounds of laughter and joy. Please know that my heart is with you.
Love Mike
The pastor and congregation of Bethel AME Church, Iowa City, IA join me in conveying our sincerest condolences to the family of John Nolan at this time of bereavement and pray that you are comforted by the knowledge that God has taken your loved one unto His keeping. I shall always remember what a great friend John was to my dad, the late Rev. Fred L. Penny.
so sorry to hear about John. He lived next door to my aunt and uncle on summit street, so I knew John early on and all through high school and beyond. So glad I got to see him at the last reunion. Condolences to all the family. Also Connie, thinking of you and that you will have ease and comfort at this time.
A City High classmate. A great guy. Rest in Peace.

John was in my class 1954 City High. He was a real supporter of our class, attending our monthly luncheons when able. We delighted in his goings on. Rest in peace John
Its been a long time since we've seen his Irish mug but fond memories come back readily of the great times we spent together in Iowa City. He made is laugh loud and think way beyond the "box." It was always fun just to share dinner and watch him order his food! There wasn't a subject matter he didn't have an intelligent opinion on. But the best and most memorable times were during Hawkeye football season! We had season tickets together for many years and did we ever have fun! Connie, Sharon, and Peggy Andriano were the hit of our section! We will miss our friend very much but we know he is in a good place. He earned it. I'm sure, right now, he is showing someone how to make a better "pearly gate." God speed my good friend and may you be in Heaven a half hour before the devil knows your dead.
We love all those beautiful girls (and J R) you left behind
and especially Connie. I'm sorry we can't be with you in person but we are all there in your hearts. God bless you all. Joe,Sharon,Cassie and Theresa
We will all miss "Neighbor John" very much. So many good years living next door. Thoughts, prayers and hugs to the entire Nolan family at this sad time.
Connie and Family,
We are thinking of you and sending our sincerely sympathy. If there is anything at all that we can do please do not hesitate to let us know. John was a very good man, we loved reading all about the inventions and stories, what wonderful memories he left for all of you! We share your sorrow at this difficult time.
