Karen, we are so sorry for your loss. We will always remember our friendship with both you and Steve. He was a constant visitor at our home. You and your family are in our prayers.
Peg
I just talked with B Boyd and learned of Steve's passing. I wanted to express my sympathy to Karen and her family, while I did not know Steve well, I had worked with Karen while calling on City Electric for many years. As I told Bob, Karen was always a saint, a wonderful person to be around.
From recent family experience I realize Steve had some difficult days at the end, and I am sure he was comforted by a great family. Hope everyone can feel at peace now and go enjoy life as much as Steve loved fishing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, and hope the best for your futures.

I am so glad I got to visit with you this past February, and give Steve one last heartfelt hug from "the Professor". Prayers for peace and comfort for all.
Lots of love,
Jan
Karen and family,
I haven't words to express how sorry I was to hear the news about Steve's passing and his suffering. He was a great guy and if you were his friend, he stood by you. Thinking of you.

Prayers for your family
My heart goes out to you all. All my best...
Dear Mark, Brad, Scot and Karen,
I am sorry to hear about Steve's passing. I remember him as a strong, hansome, and slightly intimidating man. Growing up 2 houses away, I saw how devoted he was to his 3 sons, and I thought that was pretty cool. I am glad to read about his life here...it sounds like he lived it to the fullest. Take joy in all the memories.
Love to you all,
Molly

Karen,
My heart goes out to you and your family. I feel deep compassion for the difficult journey through Steve's illness. I remember his smile, his devotion to you, and his over-the-top determination to participate in high school sports. We know He Lives! May the love and memories of the years you shared comfort you.
Your former classmate,

Mark,
Sorry for your loss, you are in my thoughts at this time.

Brad, Scot, Mark, and Karen,
Coach Dawson and your family was an integral part of my 13-15 year old years. It is a time of my life I always look back with great fondness. I can remember when I was told I was going to be a White Sox player - some of my immediate friends saying - oh they are really good, and we were. I remember spending lots of time in your backyard hitting off the pitching machine, and Coach always so giving of his time. I also remember Mark being the terrific big brother who was willing to help us as well. Brad and Scot being great teammates, and your family making it so much fun.
I hope you all are able to pass along some of those memories, and all the other ones of his life.
Prayers of comfort going up for your family.
Tom Knebel
You all have my deepest heartfelt sympathy and this time of your loss. Steve was sure a great person he was always very helpful to all. He will be missed by many but never forgotten.
So sorry for your loss Karen and family. May he rest in peace.
Karen, Mark, Brad and Scott, We are so sorry for your loss. Steve was truly a Wonderful man. Your friends, Don and Kathy
I was fortunate enough to grow up in the same neighborhood with the Dawson's. Their house was always a central gathering point for all the kids. Steve built a pitchers mound in their back yard which saw a LOT of use. Whether it was pitching baseballs or a full on Wiffleball game or even late night hide and seek Steve's poor lawn never stood a chance...but he of course never cared about that.
Steve and my dad together coached Mark and I on our Babe Ruth baseball team which provided many fond memories.
Steve was ALWAYS smiling and happy. He loved joking around with all the kids. I simply cannot say enough about how my memories of him are of a kind and fun loving man. I know all of those who had the fortune to know him will also treasure their memories.
Thank you for being a part of my life Steve.

Steve's son, Mark, and my son Alan, were high school buddies and classmates. I just recently got to know Steve, and we enjoyed conversing and exchanging emails. Steve was a gentleman, and very interesting to interact with. My condolences goes out to his family.
