Condolences
So many great memories of our beloved Blossom! She was a grand lady in every sense of the word. My heart goes out to everyone who was lucky enough to have her in our lives, no matter how short, she made our lives richer.
Helen/Blossom was a wonderful lady and I really enjoyed working with her at camp. My condolences to the family for their loss.
I will always remember all the fun we had in the kitchen at camp. Blossom always made every day a blast! She listened to many problems with kindness and wisdom. We always loved coming to Iowa City to treat her to a birthday lunch that often stretched to three or four hours. She truly was one in a million!
Aunt Helen will be missed terribly. She occupied such a large place in my life - attending every important life event (and many not so important!), regular family activities and never forgot to send me a birthday card for 50 years straight. She was kind, quick with a smile and a word of encouragement. She was loved by her family who always occupied the most important place in her life.

Blossom was a teacher of life, our own Dear Abby, a manager of manners and one who cried tears of laughter at our antics. I have a heavy heart with her passing and will always remember her lessons. My thoughts are with Mr. Blossom and the entire family. Thank you for sharing her with all of us.
I knew you as Blossom at Camp Widjiwagan - you were always so lovely to me and the international team. We were a long way from home and you always gave us lots of love, hugs and Jolly Ranchers. You made an great impact on my life and I will always remember you with love and laughter. Lots of love to your family xxxx
Blossom would have coffee ready for me at 6 am every single morning at Camp Conestoga and Camp Widji. We would sit in the breezeway, drink our coffee and talk about everything and anything. She befriended my mom who was the camp nurse at the time and convinced her to do the Zip line at camp. So the both of them, with helmets on, rode the zip line! It was MARVELOUS! She would make me 'camp' jelly and chicken and noodles and send them home with me at the end of the year. I am just devastated that she is gone. She is one who I thought would live forever. The world is a darker place now that her light shines in heaven. She fed thousands of campers and hundreds of counselors not only with her great cooking, but also with her wisdom, humor, compassion and love. To her family, she loved you all beyond words. She would keep us updated on all of your lives and oh, how she loved her Merv and missed him while she was at camp! Take comfort in knowing how many thousands of lives she touched. I am incredibly blessed to have known her.
To Helen's Family, I pray you can take comfort in knowing how loved Helen "Blossom" was to so many. I knew her at Camp Conestoga and she was a joy to work with. Blessings to you all.
So many of my memories of Aunt Helen are set in a busy kitchen with her joking and laughing while preparing a delicious meal. I'll remember her laughter and her kindness and will miss her dearly.
