Obituary of Michael James Portwood

Michael James Portwood, 56, died suddenly, July 7, 2016, in North Liberty, IA. Michael James Portwood was born July 14, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of James Eldon Portwood and Sally Jeanne (McComas) Portwood. Michael James Portwood, formerly of Oxford, went to school at Clear Creek Amana. After leaving there, he worked for Powell Sanitation, then Amana Refrigerator for more than 30 years. Following this, he had temp jobs because of health reasons, most recently, working at Proctor and Gamble where he made many friends, who were also great support, thank you. Michael enjoyed camping, especially at Yellow River State Forest with his family. For many years he enjoyed boating, fishing, and music, and had a great love for any animal, especially his dog, BoBo, and his cat. Michael is survived by his sister, Michelle (Portwood) Reynolds, her husband, Allan, nephews, Andrew Reynolds, and his wife, Melissa, and children, Wyatt and Mason. Michael was preceded in death by his parents. Michael will be truly missed by all. God Bless you Michael James. Rest now. We love you
