On October 18,1962 I heard Mr. Kenneth Amada playing at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
- I saved the original program information:
He performed: Bach - Italian Concerto - Beethoven Sonata op. 57 (Apassionata) Benjamin Lees - Epigrammen (first performance in The Netherlands) after the pause Chopin 12 etudes op.10.
Today I discovered on the internet that Mr Kenneth Amada passed away. My condolences to his family.
Greetings
Jurriaan
I did not know that Kenneth passed away. My sympathies to his family.
When I was 15 years old, I lived in the same apt. building with Kenneth and his Mom. I took piano lessons from Kenneth for many years! He was a wonderful teacher! The year was 1960. I practiced like crazy---one of the reasons is that I had my "first crush" on this handsome man!
Life went one---we moved, they moved. Today i thought about him as I often do when i look at my piano. Fond memories of a very wonderful and talented man!
I remember Kenneth had a beautiful white Jaguar at that time! Awesome!

remember ken well, his artistry as a pianist, and his commitment to great music-making. enjoyed getting to know his son, eric, when Karen and I moved to New York City. I saw him occasionally around Iowa City, and it was always good to see him. Godspeed!
Kenneth was a fine teacher and performer. I was his first DMA graduate. He did much for me. May he rest in peace.

Ken Amada was a very unique & talented individual. He was a pharmacy customer of mine for more than 15 yrs. What a colorful & interesting person he was here in Iowa City.
Only once did I have the opportunity to hear him play a beautiful "Lead" piece at a University of Iowa Concert Series.
Ken lived a full life I'm sure with the unique automobiles that he drove, as well as his continuing collection of rolex watches.
He told how as a youth, his mother cultivated his piano expertise in New Jersey.
Have been blessed to have known Ken.
I remember Ken's first concert when he just arrived in Iowa City.--I believe it was done quickly in McBride Hall. We loved his music, and enjoyed his friendship. He was our neighbor--a long time ago.

You will be missed! I remember with great fondness my time as your student at the University of Iowa (1986-88, DMA). Rest in peace.

I appreciated studying with Kenneth Amada in the early 80's -- can't believe it has been that long. I particularly remember working with him on the Chopin Etudes, Op. 10. I send condolences to the family. Carol lei Breckenridge
