Obituary of Joe M. Zajicek

Joe M. Zajicek, 96, lifetime resident of this area died Friday, October 7, 2016 at Lantern Park Care Center after a long illness. His family includes his wife, Gloria; daughter, Joyce Stochl and her husband, David of Iowa City; son, John Zajicek and his wife, Cassandra of Carbondale, CO; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Stochl (Madalena), Angela Burgess (Gary), Matthew Zajicek, Andrew Zajicek, and Eleanor Cleverly; and 4 great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a son, George R. (Rusty) Zajicek. In lieu of flowers, Joe’s family request memorial tributes be made to Iowa City Hospice or First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City. Private family graveside services will be held at the Oakland Cemetery in Solon on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Joe’s family and his services.
