Condolences
I am sadden to hear of the passing of Dee. My condolences to Van, Hyang Ja, and Sarah.
Dee was a good friend and support for me when I lost my brother to ALS. She was always a straight shooter and told me just what I needed to hear at the right time. I will miss her at our ALS support gatherings! Peace to all of her loved ones. Dee is with Larry now.
Thank you for being a memorable friend.
I shall not soon forget you.
Mark
I knew Dee from her days at DR-M. I visited her in Iowa City once and she took me to a Vietnamese restaurant. She told me I had to try the food but it was OK if I didn't like it. I think I took her some "ditch lilies" to plant at her house. She was a very kind, caring person who was sensitive to the needs of others while encouraging growth. Sending my sympathy to her family and friends.
I assisted Dee and Larry a number of years ago with some decorating projects in the house. I loved visiting with Dee and appreciated her admiration for art and travel. A very remarkable woman. She will be missed.
I was saddened to hear from my daughter Melissa about Dee's passing. We had many good times together in Marengo, Iowa2Ga3D with our family - Joe,Mike Bill and Melissa. From Halloween parties to Thanksgiving dinner at our house where I mistook baklava sauce for gravy:>) Dee was a spirited friend, educator and I applaud her children of whom she and Larry were so proud.
To the family sorry for your loss, at a time like this many have found comfort from God's promise in the bible at Acts 24:15.
To her family and friends I am so sorry for your loss.
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Dee was one of my teachers in Marengo, IA. I have always remembered the day she brought Van in to show all of us her son. She was so happy. Dee was one of the teachers I remember the best. She really cared about you and would do anything she could to help you out. She was a very special lady and will be missed by many.

We have been friends for about 48 years. Dee and Larry were fun and caring; they were very special friends when we lived in their area. We have maintained that friendship through the years and supported each other with the ups and downs of life. Emails and phone calls helped us keep in touch with sharing news of families and happenings in the last few years. We have good memories of Dee and her long conversations and sense of humor. Our lives were better for having known her and Larry.
May your memories be of comfort to you at this sad time in the loss of your Mom, Grandma, Mother-in-law, and friend.
Thinking of all of you,
Larry and Judy Gile
She was such a wonderful teacher and counselor to our children. We will always have such fond memories of her. Our sympathy to you all
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you!
Dee was such a very caring and loving teacher. I remember feeling so "special" when I was in her classroom, because she always treated me with warm hugs and such kind and caring words. Chet and I were fortunate to have Dee as our third grade as well as our sixth grade teacher, so we were doubly blessed with her nurturing and compassion for teaching.
I felt very honored to be asked on several occassions to babysit. Dee loved her family! Her smile said it all, when asked or when talking about her family.
Both she and Larry will be missed dearly, but I know their generations will carry on their strong nurturing and loving family values.
With sincere sympathy,
Brenda, Chet, Amber and Blake McCaw
