Condolences
Bob was a great colleague at ACT: thoughtful, considerate, expert in his field, and with a deep sense of both responsibility to educational goals and of obligation to students. He set a high example and made many valuable contributions to the ACT organization and to the lifelong learning of his coworkers, and did so with modesty, grace, and good humor.
Dear Connie,
I am so sorry to hear about Bob's death. At Hal's retirement dinner this June, Susan G and I were just reminiscing about how much fun the three of us had teaching calculus together. There was always so much laughter and joy when spending time with Bob. Bob's infectious spirit will be sorely missed and hopefully will live on in all those he touched. My heart goes out to you and your family at this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. He was my teammate on the New Haven JCC for many years while we were growing up. He was the hardest working swimmer on our team and the nicest guy who didn't have a mean bone in his body. He was fearless in the pool. Everyone was terrified of the 200 fly and the 400 IM and Bobby just did them and repeated them.
Bill and Evelyn were terrific supporters of Bobby and the rest of our team. I have only happy memories of that time. We lost touch when we all went our separate ways to college.
My deepest sympathy to you all.
I am so very sorry for your loss. Please let me know how I can help. I just found out. So very sorry for your dear family. Take care,
Lisa Hall
Connie and kids, I just found out and want to let you know how sorry I am. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you at this time.
Sam, Eli, Zoe, & Connie,
I just became aware of Bob's passing. My deepest condolences on your loss. Bob was a kind man that loved all of you with all of his heart. May all your memories bring laughter and smiles along with your tears.
Dear Connie, I am still in shock so it is very difficult for me to write anything. Bob was my best friend. He was Bobby to me when we were just kids and later on became Ralf to his Bowdoin friends. There is not a single person in my life who shared so much of my life and was part of so many memories of my life. No one. Our friendship spanned nearly 50 years.
Connie,
The news of your husband's passing was shocking, to say the least.
I am so sorry.
Love,
Barb Kuncl

Hello Connie, I am sorry to be informed of the death of your husband. I do wish you and your family well during this difficult time.
Connie and family,
Connie and Family, I just found out about this news tonight and was saddened and sending our thoughts and waves of positive thoughts to you and your family.
Bob, you were a surrogate family member for me when I lived with your niece, Maureen. Your love made a lasting impression on me during the moments we spent together. You made Iowa City feel a lot more like home. You will be missed!
Connie, my deepest sympathies to you all. Bob must have been an extraordinary man to have had you for a wife.
To Connie and family:
I also knew Bob through the pool and send my thoughts to you during this difficult time. Bob and I enjoyed talking and sharing thoughts. He will be missed, I am sure, by all who knew him.
I knew Bob from swimming laps at Mercer Pool. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you find solace with each other in the face of this immense grief.
I knew Bob as a swimmer and he was an inspiration in and out of the water. He always had good words and good humor and was so danged humble about his achievements. He could bang out those laps like nobody else I know, and did so with great joy and an infectious positive attitude. I will miss him.
Bob was one of my favorite colleagues at ACT. We worked in different areas but I knew him well enough and loved his sense of humor. I am very sorry that he is gone.

Ah, Connie and kids, I am so sorry and can't imagine walking in your shoes. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Bob, but I know Connie and I see posts about kids, so I know you all have had a wonderful life together. Cherish your memories for life and keep them close to your heart.
Connie and Kids,
Dear Connie, Sam, Eli and Zoe,
Your husband and father was such a nice person. I shall always remember him coming by the office to pick up his children; so polite and kind. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers, Connie!
Bob- Thank you for everything. You were an amazing uncle and a true friend. You rescued me time and time again when I lived in Iowa City. We are cut from the same cloth and could talk about anything. I am so grateful that I had the chance to see you last month. I hope you had as much fun as I did. I love you and will miss you dearly. You truly made my life better. Now it's time to celebrate yours.
Love,
Mo
I remember when Dad took me to Connecticut. We were walking along the beach trying to find nice seashells to take home. Sam and Eli had already found two that went together. Dad had found a beautiful white shell. He found a leopard-spotted shell for me on the beach. I will always hear him speaking over the ocean when I listen to my shell.
Bob (Ralf)- Thanks for all the years of fun and laughter. Thanks for staying in touch all these years. I will never forget our good times at Bowdoin, living at the pool, Rudy's and everything else in between. I'm sure you know that myself, Pelle and many others will celebrate your life in fine fashion and for years to come.
Connie- You are a great wife and mom and I truly admire your life with Bob and how your kids are so much like you...free spirits. I wish you the very best and look forward to celebrating Bob's life with you and your family.
Love, Hutch
My friend Bob ~ I miss him. My heart is with you.
