Thomas C. "Tom" Lickiss
1948 - 2017
Condolences
We both grew up with the Lickiss family. We were neighbors my whole childhood.I do remember Tom and Terry walking me to school when I was in the early grades.I also remember picking up night crawlers in their yard.Last time I talked to Tom was at a neighbors funeral in Oelwein . He was so proud of his little boy! Gordon graduated with the boys. We were so sorry to hear about Tom.Our sympathy is with your family at this difficult time.
So sorry to hear about Tom. We are on vacation and just heard. So glad he stopped by a few months ago. We hugged and said goodbye. I was so sad. I guess I just knew his life was fading away. He so loved it up here and also loved the eagles. He knew where all the nests were. Boyd was the light of his life.
My sincere sympathy to Tom's family. When Tom worked for Goodyear I was a sales rep for a corrugated packaging plant. I had the pleasure of working with Tom on many projects. He was always professional, always kind, and forever working hard to bring value to his employer. He was thoughtful and creative. I truly enjoyed the years that I called on Tom; our meetings were something I looked forward to. Tom always brightened my day!
Gretchen and Boyd,
I found this saying that I thought was so true.
We thought of you in love today, but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday and days before that, too.
We think of you in silence, we often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake, with which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts.
God bless you both. xxoo

Gretchen and Boyd, our hearts go out to both of you. Tom was someone who will not be forgotten. He told the best stories that would have you laughing in the isles! He was a hard worker and took so much pride in all he accomplished. He was so very proud of you, Boyd. He may not have told you in words, but he bragged about you to his family. He wanted you to be strong and independent and you are. His disease changed him, but those that loved him will only remember "the real" Tom.

At times like this, it is hard to see past the sorrow, but i hope you can reflect on the wonderful memories that you have shared. Know that Tom is at peace now & free from any pain.
