Condolences
Janet always had a smile on her at work and made things so much pleasanter there. I will even miss that smile when I met her outside of work,.such as a Hawks game or on the way to vote. I'm sorry for your loss also since it is much greater. Mary Hacker

Dear Kids,
For me, I remember the first time I met Mrs. Wilcox (I could never call her Jan...just too much respect), she flashed me that beautiful, big toothy smile and I reverted to what felt like grade-school, flushing, blushing, clutching, all agog. She made me feel like, at that moment, at that very instant in time, I was her favorite human being and she really would rather be with me than anyone else. The feeling her smile gave me never faded. It is my memory and lucky me that she should be that kind to me.
Thank you , Mrs. Wilcox.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Dan
I first met Dr Wilcox through her son, Kirk. We were in pre-med classes together at the University of Iowa. Dr Wilcox was always most encouraging to me during those tedious years! Later, when both she and my mother came to be Oaknoll residents, Jan always remembered me when we'd occasionally meet in a hallway. Her kind words of support to me and my family were always welcomed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kirk and the rest of the Wilcox family.
Kirk, Denise and Family,
So sorry for the loss of your mother. She sounded like a fun and very energetic individual. Sounds like she will be missed by many. Prayers and thoughts to all of you.
Jim and Jan Callahan Barnes (Classmates of Kirk's at Iowa City West High School)
Your mother was truly a remarkable lady. Her love of life and common sense was a blessing to all of us who knew her.
With deepest sympathy,

My wife Pat & I first met Jan dancing with Jim at the Lighthouse Supper Club many years ago. They were a delightful
couple ... friendly, and easy to chat with. Several other time we'd see them dancing at Riverside .. and then there was
all those Hawkeye games. The smile in this picture was always with her. We enjoyed our time spent, and send our
sincere condolences to her family and her many friends.
Kirk, My condolences to you and your family on the passing of your fabulous Mother. She ALWAYS had her beautiful smile on and her positive personality would engulf a room. I will remember her as one of the greatest Hawk fans of all time! Please email me your email address. Always my best, Mike Gatens
I am one of the many who had the honor of knowing your Mom. I worked with her at Student Health for several years and then she would also come out to my home in West Branch for haircuts. She was such an honest vibrant person and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to know her. She will be greatly missed and remembered by many.

It is with sadness and deepest sympathy that I write this to the Wilcox family. I have such wonderful memories of your mom and dad and the beautiful house on Summit Street! Your mom was always so involved in everything, but always had time to make us great lunches or let us have memorable slumber parties at the house. Fondly, Margee
I have been missing Jan's dancing with Jim at the Lighthouse gigs for the past couple of years, and I am very saddened to hear of her passing. She leaves with me the lesson of how to allow my inner child get out and enjoy life. What a wonderful woman!
Jan was such a marvelous encouragement to me when I joined the staff at UI Student Health Service. Her humor and mentoring carried me through many low moments during those times. I'll always remember Sunday evening jazz at the Sanctuary. Her sparkle will be remembered and missed.
