Patrick Paul Devine left this world, on May 11, 2017. He was the firstborn son of Francis and Eileen Devine, on March 2, 1949.
Pat was 2nd of 7 children. He attended Sigourney High School and graduated in 1968, then attended Burlington Jr. College. He enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1970 to 1978 on the USS Pintado Nuclear Attack Submarine. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Expeditionary Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with Star. During his years of service, he married Gloria Perrotte from Corinth, NY. After the Navy, he worked in the startup and operations of nuclear power plants until retirement. He recently encountered an unexpected fight with cancer. Pat, being a strong Irishman, gave it a determined fight but lost in the end. He is off to see his father, Francis and a multitude of ancestors.
Pat will be missed by his Mother, his siblings, Mary Eileen Meyer, Michelle Devine, Tim Devine, Francine Behounek, Terry Lyon and John Devine, and his former wife, Gloria Perrotte Devine and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of Pat’s life on June 3rd, 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sigourney, IA
