He graduated from Franklin High School in Cedar Rapids and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  On July 22, 1954, he was united in marriage to Alberta M. During his twenty plus years in retirement, Glenn never missed the annual reunion of the Century Club of the former employees of Quaker Oats.

He was an active part of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills and had also worked as a crossing guard for the school district for the last 8 years.  His family was the center of his life, but he also enjoyed time golfing, working on his flower gardens and traveling the country.
