Obituary of Robert L. Fults

Robert L. “Skip” Fults, 71, of Coralville, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Monday August 7th at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City where visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Monday, just prior to the funeral service.  Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.gayandciha.com.

Robert Lorin Fults was born December 23, 1945 in Gruetli, Tennessee; son of Theron and Josephine (Brown) Fults.  He lived a short time in Tennessee, and spent most of his childhood in California; then moving to Cedar Rapids and eventually to the Coralville area.  On December 6, 1975, Skip married Karen Siems in Iowa City.  Over the years he enjoyed time spent with his family, fishing, hunting, playing cards and traveling the dusty back roads of Iowa.

His family includes his wife Karen; children, Laura Fults of Davenport, Eddie Fults (Mary) of Hills, Lisa Johnson (Ryan) of North Liberty, Angie Gorvin (Cris) of North Liberty, Clint Fults (Emily) of Tiffin, Crystal Eggers and Heather Brammer; grandchildren, Kristen, Dylan, Lexi, Buddy and Kaelyn; siblings, Ed Fults (Kat) of Cedar Rapids, Bruce Fults (Danette) of Ottumwa, Anna Britton of Florida and Joe Fults of Tennessee and sisters-in-law, Jane Fults of Newton and Mary Fults Marrow.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Leon, Hughey (Donna), Gene and Brenda Britton and brother-in-law, Bill Britton.
