Gerald "Jerry" Brumley
1949 - 2017
Condolences
I was genuinely shocked when I saw this. I have thought of Jerry over the years and wondered where he was and what had happened to him. I remember his hair when it was big ...... and I do mean big! He had to prove he could get his beanie (helmet) over that wild do. He was a wonderful man with a terrific sense of humor. His family and friends but especially Linda and Heidi have my most sincere sympathies and condolences. I'll tip my next cold one in his honor. You're winning every race now Jerry.
Gerald and I started at Herbert Hoover Elementary and graduated from City High together in 1967. I knew Chico, his pet monkey too. Although our lives diverged after high school, I will always remember the first track ribbon I earned with Gerald's left leg tied to my right in the 6th grade 3 legged race. Rest in peace.
I encountered Jerry only once at a clinic. We struck up a conversation in the waiting room. I enjoyed talking with him about racing. He also (correctly, it turned out) diagnosed an engine problem I was having and told me how to fix it. I was sorry to see him go when the nurse called him back to the treatment area. Since then I've thought many times about how nice it would have been to have him for a next-door neighbor. Whoever says about him that he never met a stranger is certainly telling the truth!
To the family of Jerry Brumley.
I am sorry for your loss.
Jerry was one of the best.
Jerry was so generous with his time. Jerry was so nice to my mother and was always there when she needed help. He was a true friend.

Jerry was my friend for more than 30 years. He was always there with a helping hand and he always had time for you. He made me laugh and not take myself too seriously. My grandsons loved spending time with him and my husband truly enjoyed this new friend. He will be missed. Heaven gained a kind and funny new resident today
