Condolences
Family of Nancy Moss - Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. I considered Nancy a true friend of mine and although we lost touch after her move to Florida I have many fond memories. I worked with Nancy in the Office of Student Financial Aid and also went to church with Nancy in Muscatine. Prior to her move we also would lunch at Carlos O'Kellys.
Nancy always talked about her family and I feel like I knew some of you although we have never met. Remember through this time of grief that she valued each of you. We have all lost a special person. Thinking of you all, Beth.
To the Moss family,
I got to know Nancy when I first started working in the UI Financial Aid Office in November 1975 and continued working with her until her retirement. She was always very friendly and helpful to me, to other staff in the office and to the students. She was such a kind and generous person. At that time the office was very small and we got to know each other very well. Our lunch hours were spent talking about current events, family events, sports and anything else we thought of. We laughed a lot. Nancy was always cheerful and had such a positive attitude. I am glad to have known Nancy.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad time.

Jane and family, my sympathy is with you at this time. I didn't realize how much you looked like your mom, Jane.
Take care.

To the Nancy Moss Family: My most sincere condolences to each of you. Our family (Dave, Pat, Paul, Deb [me] and Leah Gause) lived next door to the Moss family on Ash Street for years and I have very fond memories of all the time spent next door. I remember Dadee (Diana) and Jane used to dress me up in their dressy formal dresses and I would parade the neighborhood – Nancy always knew I was there because of all the giggles we girls had. Jerry would pull my brother Paul around in a wagon and I believe he helped Paul learn how to ride his tricycle and then bicycle – Jerry was always very protective of Paul. When we moved north of Iowa City, Linda babysat for us (Linda, remember the time we found Paul got in your car and “drove” it around the yard, then “parked” it ON the corner of the garage, literally?!?!) We loved the Moss family as if they were OUR family, too. Mom stayed in touch with Nancy for many years after we moved and whenever the Moss name came up, we had so many stories and fabulous memories of each and every one. I’m sure Mom and Dad will be watching for Nancy’s arrival and they will have a great time cheering on the Hawks and keeping an eye on those of us left behind. Please know it was in part because of Nancy and her wonderful family that I had a pretty great childhood. Deb (Gause) Borgstahl, Iowa City P.S. Jane, you look just like your mother in the black and white photo!!!!
