Condolences
Dear Lisa & Family, I just heard of Mark's passing. My Heart breaks for you! Mark was a truly amazing person. I have many fond memories of time Lisa, Mark & I spent together in our younger years.
Lisa, I have tried to locate an address & phone number for you & have been unsuccessful. If you would like to contact me, I still live on the dead end road north of Iowa City Turner Ave NE Iowa City. My home phone is listed in the phone book.
If i can ever be of any help to you, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Prayers & blessing to the Meier family.
Love, Cheryl (Eberhart) Smith
Mark & I spent a lot of time together at Sudlow, because we played football, baseball & basketball together. He always seemed to be in a good mood and very easy-going. Although I hadn't seen Mark since HS graduation, he was one of those friends that I always wanted to see again and drink a few beers with.
I wish I would have gotten to see and know Mark over the past few years, so that we could have had a few beers together.
R.I.P. ol' friend.
Mark always had me covered in centerfield on pony league team(Mc Donald’s) My heartfelt sympathy to his family. Frosty
Our sincere sympathies to Mark’s family. We pray that your fond memories of Mark will continue to give you strength now and in the future. Our prayers are with you and Mark. May he Rest In Peace.

Please know we are sorry for your loss.
As a 16 or 17 year old, I had a yearning to own a pet raccoon, and Mark knew where I could get one and delivered one to me!
Mark and I grew up in the semi-rural neighborhood in north Davenport near what is now a bustling crowded commercial corridor. I remember he and I occasionally walking home from elementary school together, a distance of 5 miles, rather than taking the school bus. He was a great one for tramping through woods, across creeks and cornfields. Good athlete, mostly quiet but a man of real depth and character.
My sympathies to his entire family, most especially to his mother and sister who I recall vividly from our days growing up on Fairhaven Road.
Mark was a hard working good soul. He was a great and dedicated father. I was in his life a few short years but got to know him well. I will miss him.
I am so sorry for this loss of a wonderful person. Sympathy and prayers to his family.
My handsome 8th grade boyfriend, who was a star baseball player. Quiet and kind. All thru high school we would keep in touch! I remember when I didn't have a car, and he would stop and pick me up and take me. He was a cute, sweet guy who seemed to have to "sew his oats" and wish I had gotten to know him as an adult. Rest in Peace , Mark, you are off to a better place
