We were so sad to learn of Jason's accident and passing. Our sympathies and condolences go out to you all.
Paula and family -
I was shocked when I heard the news and am still in disbelief that Jason is gone. It just so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that he won't be calling me up to harass me about something random...because he saw something that reminded him about something else and some how that ended up with him calling me about something completely different. He was a good man, a great husband, terrific father and excellent friend. The next time I am in the grocery store buying ice cream and tequila I will remember Jason asking me if I was on a date....followed by a when should I come over for some tequila and ice cream? Paula, you and your family are forever my friends and whatever you need please let me know. At some point we will all have to 'Jump around' in honor of Jason.
We all have a broken heart. Love to you all!
I don't know of Jason, but I have worked with Paula for a short time at Younkers. I agree with the comment in his obituary "...being a familiar face to many." If he was married to someone as great as Paula, he must have been wonderful. I am sorry to everyone affected by this loss, whether you are his children, family or friends. This reminds me of the tragic death of Tracy Carl VandePol back 2009 from the Des Moines area. She was a next door neighbor to my husband as he was growing up. When my husband went to her funeral he joined many others in the standing room since the main area was full. He was able to watch the funeral via TV. He enjoyed the funeral service as well as was seeing the many who knew her. Tracy and her husband owned a gym in that area. She died instantly from a snowmobile accident by breaking her neck. After the funeral my husband wrote a note to her brother with the message to please be a "Super-Uncle" to Tracy's children. It looks like Paula and her family are surrounded by a great community. I hope anyone reading this will reach out to them during this time of tragedy. My husband, John asked that of Tracy's brother since he had no extended family close by when he lost his father to cancer at the age of 16. There was his mother and grandmother. My husband is the wonderful man he is today because of the wonderful neighbors who took him in when his mother was grieving her loss. My prayer is that God will do for Paula and her children what the small town of Ankeny did for John in 1986. Today, John is a high school business teacher who seems to be a teacher enjoyed by his students. A group students made a nice booklet for him this Christmas telling him what they appreciate about him. Hardships like this can shape individuals to be better people rather than bitter if we give it over to Him. We don't know God's plan, but we have to trust HIM to make something great out of this. Blessings to all who read this!!
Thinking of you and your family. Jason will live forever in your hearts and those cherished memories.
We are in disbelief! Jason always helped out at basketball and soccer and was so passionate about supporting his kids in their activities. He was a great guy. Jason will be missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!
We are very saddened to hear of Jason's passing. We knew him through youth sports, and our sons were teammates. Even though we knew him briefly, he was always quick with a smile or to lend a hand. Once you met him, you had a friend... he will be missed. Our warmest sympathies go out to Paula and the Caylor family and friends.

We are so sorry to hear this news. Jason was one of those who always was smiling or laughing. He brought that to others while doing it. Met him not long after he came to town and had many good times over the years. Our condolences in this tough time.

Our prayers and thoughts with Jack and all his family during this difficult time.
