Obituary of Carol K Duwa
Carol K. Duwa, 69, of Iowa City, Iowa died Monday, April 23, 2018 with her son Robert J. Duwa and daughter-in-law Darlene D. Duwa by her side.
Carol Kay Lagneaux was born August 10, 1948 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Irving James and Mary Catherine (Ramsey) Lagneaux. She graduated from Nortre Dame High School in Burlington in 1966 then attended The University of Iowa graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics. She spent her 44 year career working in Iowa City at IAC (originally Sheller Globe). She married Larry Lee Duwa February 2, 1976 in Iowa City, they had two children.
An avid lover of collecting Longaberger baskets and antiques, going to movies, attending concerts, and watching her favorite gameshows - she never missed a question on Jeopardy! All who loved her would say she was the smartest woman they knew. But most importantly Carol devoted her life to her children, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, family and friends.
Carol is survived by her loving daughter Katherine (Bradley) Pope of Cumming, GA; devoted son Robert (Darlene) Duwa of Coralville, IA; two grandchildren, Jacob Ryan Pope and Colton Ford Pope; a brother Bob (Sue) Lagneaux of Polk City, IA; sister-in-law Carol Lagneaux of Ceder Rapids, IA; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Jean, and a brother Jim.
No public services are being planned at her request.
