To Jim's Family: Sorry for your loss. I had lost track of Jim because I moved away for many years. But back in the day ('60's) we all ran together since Iowa City was so small. One night at the dance in Swisher I was bummed out about God only knows and Jim was so nice and talked to me for probably an hour just because he cared. I've never forgotten his kindness toward me. A family member was kind enough to tell me where I might find Jim and was happy to be able to visit with him. He recognized me immediately and we had a good time catching up--after I figured out quickly how to best communicate with him. Thank you so much for getting us back in touch. And thanks for taking such good care of your family at their end of days.

I am unable to come to the service. Please celebrate Jim well. When he was clean, he was a smart, caring, and dynamic individual. He was all those things when he wasn't clean, too. You just couldn't see it so clearly. Was happy to be his friend.
