Condolences
To the Family of Ned Allen,
I have great memories of Ned as our school bus driver....getting us safe and sound to and from school. He was a good man....hold on to those memories as you struggle with your loss. He will be forever in your heart.
My deepest sympathies to Ann and the family for your loss. It's been a very long time since I've seen any of you, but I have fond memories of visiting the farm with my dad (Norris Reeve) as a small child and the random family reunions we used to have. My most recent memories are over 30 years old now and that was roller skating and hanging out with Greg. I am sure you have many wonder memories and Ned will always be in the hearts of everyone he met.
Our deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your dear husband, father and grandfather. Ned was a very nice man. I can still see that little salute type wave he would always give when I would meet his bus on Highway 6. May your many happy memories bring you much comfort. Sincerely, Patty & Kevin Hackathorn.
My sincere sympathy for Ann and the rest of the family and friends. My gosh Ned was the never fail school bus driver for me for years and years up through the end of high school. It was a time when there was still a good handful of us depending on him even in our Junior and Senior years. Besides always greeting me in the mornings and dropping me off in the afternoons with a smile there are two short stories I want to share. I remember him getting us last few country kids back home in a terrible snow storm, late 60's. Gravel roads, snow well up higher than the axels, no shoulders, steep hills and still heavily snowing. Slow and steady in the middle of the road the whole way. But he got us home safe. Late :) but quite safe. Another few years later, last day of school, I was the last drop-off on his route. Just before getting to my house I realized I'd left my purse at school. The dread and everything else that came with it was unknowingly noticed by Ned. He inquired what the matter was, drove right past my house and back to the school to get my purse and drove me back home. Through the decades beyond our bus driver/passenger relationship he would never fail to recognize me when we happened upon each other - greeting me with that same smile. He'll be absolutely missed.
Ned's stern-but-kind (mostly kind) life-cloth was from the same ream my own Dad's was cut from. I remember the bonfires, hay-rack rides, overnight stays with Jay and pals in the basement, sneaking round the barn, and the safety I felt when I would see him in the front of the bus when I was a youngster riding to and from school. Most of all, when I think of Ned, I remember his unique, infectious laugh and his ear-to-ear smile that came along with it. My heart goes out to you Ann, Jay, Greg and the rest of the gang - he will be missed.
Our deepest sympathies to Tracy and family. Very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.
I am sorry to hear of Ned's passing. He was such an honest, humble man. Prayers to you,Ann, as well as the rest of the family.
I always remember Tracy and me getting into trouble because we were messing around in the water hole by the front fence. I think it was for the animals. Of course, we did many things that caused Ned to come out and intervene. He was also my favorite bus driver. The best memories are the Halloween hot dog roasts Ned hosted. Growing up, the Allens was like a home away from home. Those will always be my favorite memories.
Dear Allen family
I am sorry to hear about your loss. Prayers for you and your family.
Greg, your father was one of the gretest men I ever knew. So sorry for your loss.
Ann - My mom used to buy eggs and occasionally sweet corn from you years ago - I am just back in town and drove through Tiffin recently and wondered if you were still there. My sincere condolences
RIP Ned. I always enjoyed our time spent together even though it was not as often as it should have been. Enjoy time spent catching up with those who have gone before you.
deepest sympathy for those who stay behind in this world
