Obituary of Allen E. Vrchoticky
Allen Eugene Vrchoticky was born April 16, 1950 in Iowa City, Iowa to Robert and Hazel (Maxey) Vrchoticky passed Tuesday, September 25th in his home.
Allen grew up in Iowa City and attended Iowa City High School. Where he met Carla Jean Mosiman. They were married on March 21, 1970. From that marriage were two children. Son, Richard Allen Vrchoticky and daughter, Julie Ann Vrchoticky (Billings). Allen had served in the Army during that time. Then moved to Clinton, Iowa where they got their start with Big B Cleaners. Since they did such a great job with that cleaners, corporate moved them to Rockford, Illinois to take over another Big B Cleaners. Allen and Carla’s marriage ended.
Then, Allen met Julie Ann Sullivan and they were married on July 31, 1980. From that marriage, they had a son, Brian Vrchoticky. They lived in Rockford, Illinois for a short-time then they moved to Shirland, Illinois. During this time, Allen enjoyed coaching Brian’s Little League team. Allen and Julie’s marriage ended.
From there, Allen moved back to Rockford. Allen worked at Rockford Insulation for 15 years then worked for Metro Insulation until retirement. He was known for being an amazing pool player, fast cars & drag racing, loved to bowl and golf. He lived for football and his Minnesota Vikings!
His family includes son, Richard Vrchoticky and daughter-in-law Kathryn Vrchoticky, granddaughter Brittney Vrchoticky, great-grandchildren Benjamin and Aaliyah; daughter Julie Billings and son-in-law Mark Billings, grandson Craig Billings and great-granddaugther Anna, granddaughter Jennifer Van Auken and husband Kurt and great-grandchildren Dexter and Priscilla, grandson Michael Billings and wife Devin, granddaughter Ashley Billings and great-grandchildren Brooklynn, Charlotte, and Gunner, grandson Zachary Wason and great-grandson Ryan, granddaughter Katelyn Bouska and grandson-in-law Nick Bouska, and grandson Jacob Wason; and son Brian Vrchoticky. His siblings, Melva Swartzendruber, Joseph Vrchoticky, Edwin Vrchoticky, Darrell Vrchoticky, Sharon Krenz, Jerry Vrchoticky, Rodney Vrchoticky, Pat Litton, and Bruce Vrchoticky.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marilyn Nost and Darlene Donovan, and brother, Robert Vrchoticky.
In his later years, Allen developed a deeper love and passion for the Lord. He was baptized on March 11, 2001 at Pentecostal Church of the Firstborn in Rockford, Illinois. He was always happy to share the word of the Lord and give advice through scriptures. He found peace and comfort in God.
