Obituary of Bradley J Flinn
Bradley Jay Flinn, age 53 lifelong resident of Iowa City died Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Mercy Hospital from complications of his lifelong struggles with Down’s Syndrome.
Bradly was born November 14, 1964, in Iowa City the son of Darrell and Carolyn (Coleman) Flinn. Following graduation from West High School he began a career with Goodwill Industries that would span over 25 years and impact hundreds of lives always with his smile! His parents, Darrell and Carol were one of many that were instrumental in the founding of Systems Unlimited, and Brad was able to benefit from this for over the past 20 years. Brad liked sports, no doubt about it, he has pounds of medals from many specials Olympics over the years and he enjoyed skiing and bowling throughout the years. But most of all in his life were the very good people that have been in his life that made his life so very special.
His family includes his parents, Darrell and Linda Flinn; brother and his wife, Brian and Nancy Flinn; nephews, Tucker and John; and two longtime special friends, Chuck Seydel and Steve Gardner. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn and step-brother, Ken Cook.
Services celebrating Brad’s life will be held at 3pm Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the First Christian Church in Coralville, followed by a time of food and fellowship for all. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in his memory to System’s Unlimited or the First Christian Church.
