John D. Morgan, D.D.S.
1947 - 2015
Condolences
I was shocked to hear about John- I enjoyed sitting with John and Dennis in pharmacy school. He was such a great guy! I practiced orthodontics in SF as I went to dental school. What is Denny up to? Gayle hope you can remember all the good years - hope to hear from you Stan 6507045991 now Im retired in Tahoe and Monterey
Just a note to wish you the best in this troubled time. I know I wasn't the closest of neighbor's to you, but John always had a smile and a wave to me when ever I drove by, and saw him outside. Sometimes it's not only about being a close neighbor, but just being a neighbor. My best to you and the rest of your family.
So sad to hear of John's passing, I only just heard yesterday from a colleague. He truly was a gem and I enjoyed working for him- he taught me so much. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Dr. Morgan was a joy to have volunteer at His Hands Free Medical Clinic. I especially loved learning about his love for flute music. I learned a great deal about wood flutes from him.
Having just returned from out of town I was very saddened to read of John's passing. From the comments posted here it is apparent that the kind, sensitive boy I remember from my youth retained those qualities throughout his life.
I have so many memories of John. He was an extraordinary man but also a wonderful boy, always happy, never petty, and full of fun. His classmates have fond memories of growing up dancing to rock and roll and Johnny Mathis music at parties at the Morgan's. I always think of John on the first of May. His boyish zest for life was very evident on May Basket Days, so sad that people don't observe it anymore! I remember delivering baskets to his house. He would gleefully lay in wait and run to catch and kiss the girls who delivered the baskets.
Among John's many talents, his fondness of Karaoke was my favorite. I got to accompany John in a duet at a local Karaoke dive one eveving. Oh Pretty Woman never sounded better! His friendship will be missed.
My very deepest sympathy to you, Gayle, at this time of struggle. I think of our delightful times with Marny Merker, and am sure she and John are enjoying the rewards of heaven. May God grant you peace in a bountiful way.
It was our priviledge to have known John professionaly and personally. Our deepest condolences.
Dear Gail and family,
What a wonderful man, John Morgan. He was a person most exemplar among us.
John deeply touched so many people and will be missed greatly in our community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Mike and Dalene Sinnott.
I am so sorry for the Morgan family's loss. I was a patient of Dr. Morgan's for many years and always enjoyed my visits with him. The reason for my appointments was not fun, but Dr. Morgan always calmed me, was so very nice, and took excellent care of me. I am greatly saddened to hear of his passing, and would like the family to know that I will never forget him. God bless ~ Julia Lebeda
Hello Family,
Gayle you and all your family are in our thoughts and prayers
Gayle- I was sad to read about John's passing. I will always be grateful for him in my life. It was only 5 short years in college, but he taught me how to study & be organized. They are two things I needed at the time & used the still today. We are grateful to have these types of people in our lives. I am sorry that our families didn't have much contact after college, but that is life. Our hopes & prayers are with and your family at this time..Dennis Estling
I was startled to hear of John's passing. I remember the times you guys came and helped with the Neighborhood Meal & Enrichment program at St Paul's during the summer. I recall in particular a day when John brought Thomas with him. Thomas was about 4 at the time and was really a big help to Grandpa. I loved watching the interaction between them. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts & prayers will be with you. Blessings.
Remember John stopping by the our office not that long ago to say hello. He was just that kind of man. Very kind and thoughtful to all. Condolences to all the family.
To John's family: I want to extend my condolences to you all. I remember when John came to Cedar Rapids to start his practice. Both of us taught in the department of periodontics and in the department of family dentistry. His dedication to his patients, teaching contributions, and participation in the Iowa Society of Periodontology will be missed. Please extend my sympathy to all that loved him.
Sincerely,
Dr. Steve Cooper
I am saddened to hear of Dr. Morgan's passing. He will be truly missed in the halls of COD! His bright smile and heart of gold is one of a kind! Prayers to you and your families!
Just found out about this today. What a shock. John was such a great guy. His mom and my mom were sisters and they used to trade off hosting family Christmas get-togethers. It was so much fun with all the cousins! (Pretty sure we drove all our parents nuts the year we got the noisy boob tube game.) This family has endured so much loss....thinking of you all. Love, "Big Jan"
I loved John the minute I met him. His silly sense of humor attracted me instantly. I will miss our annual golf trips and always remember his "motto"... " you mess with me, you mess with the whole trailer park". Gayle and family in my prayers. May you feel Gods peace that surpasses all understanding.
My deepest sympathy to the entire Morgan family and their many dear friends. I met John and Gayle through Reed and Dawn. What a loving supportive family! He will be greatly missed. Prayers to all.
