Dear Patti and family,
Our prayers for you, your mom and family. Cherish and treasure your moments with your brother and as Stephanie was worked at CHS she has seen how students benefitted from your brothers work.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. I had the pleasures of having Tom as a classmate and a friend while growing up in Iowa City. There was never a day that he didn't put a smile on my face and made me laugh. What a very special man!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. I have fond memories of your entire family and with not having Tom here will leave a void. Hold on to the memories and know he is now in the loving hands from above. God bless.

I can remember throwing a football around in the front yard with Tom and his dad like it was yesterday. Tom was truly one of the great ones. So sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you.
Patti, I am sure that you probably don’t remember me, but my family attended Regina in the late 80s where I fondly remember your musical talents. Later in my life, a few years ago, I met Tom at the Badlands Cedar Valley Golf. I worked there and had many a lengthy conversation with your brother. He was one of a kind, no one he didn’t try to befriend. I asked him in conversation if he knew you and he proudly said you were his sister. Right away I understood why he was so charismatic. Blessing upon you and your family at this time of great loss! -Shanon (Sorgenfrey) Hillyer

I am so sorry.for the passing of your beloved Tom. A man of true integrity and such an open, giving heart, he is is mourned by so many. May you find a measure of comfort and hope knowing he is held so lovingly in the palm of God's loving hands, forever at peace. . .
Dear Patti and Family. I heard of Toms passing from a close friend and that's how I remember Tom, a friend. His smile everyday in the hallways between classes. During religion class Wednesday's night and Sunday at church. You McTaggerts are my church family and have a special place in my heart. Patti your voice is an angel and when you sing all in Heaven will hear you. Love and blessings, Lisa.
I'll always remember Tom for his wicked sense of humor and his competitive streak in everything he did, from thumb wrestling to Mariocart to chess. I know he'll be missed by all who knew him, it was such fun & a joy observing the deep friendship, playful ribbing & teasing between he and his longtime friend and golfing buddy, Brian Meyer. I won't wax too sentimental because I know just what Tom would say: " Oh, suck it up, buttercup!"
Dearest Pat, Mike, Julie and Patti. I am so sorry for the awful loss you have ex-
Perienced. It seems like it was several years ago when Pat told me her son had colon cancer. I have been kind of interactive with your family, Julie being my nurse once, hearing Patti sing at funerals of friends, watching the Litttle Hawk girls play back when the Johnson girls were part of the team, and working in the same hospital as you, Pat. I cannot imagine losing either of my kids, and have been blessed to still have both of my 2 older brothers. I am truly blessed and I pray you will someday replace most of your grief with good memories of Tom. God bless you all.
Dear McTaggart Family, My condolences on the death of your beloved Tom. When I first moved to Iowa City I always enjoyed watching the McTaggart Family at St Thomas More. Each McTaggart had a special grace and fun manner! Once I figured out that one of my favorite high school teachers was your Uncle Mike I always looked forward to seeing a McTaggart. Peace and prayers to you at this rough time. The hole in your hearts will mend bit by bit by memories of the times and love that you all shared. Peace and prayers to you, Mary C. McCarthy
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you experience Tom's death. Peace be with you.
Tom was my baseball coach during Babe Ruth years. Even though he did not have a kid on the team he loved the game and also showed some love to us kids. Thanks Tom - I never got the chance to tell you that.
Sending all of you love at this difficult time. We can only imagine the heavenly embrace between Tom and Bill. May your loving memories bring you comfort.
