Obituary of LaRene Ann McDonald

LaRene Ann Stockman McDonald went to heaven on May 7, 2019, at her home in Prineville, Oregon.  This day was the same day her mother, Bessie went to Heaven in 1982, we think she planned it to be.

LaRene was born on a very snowy day, January 22, 1934, at the Mercy Hospital in Iowa City the daughter of Frank and Bessie Stockman.  She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1952, then attended the University of Iowa for 2 years.  Here she was Homecoming Queen Candidate her freshman year.  On June 3, 1984, she married Jim McDonald.

Her family includes her husband, Jim; his children, Janine Simpson of North Carolina, Marcia Graner, Steven Johannsen (Daryl), and Michael Johannsen all of California; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Brennan (Don) of Iowa City and Vivian Witbracht (Bob) of Prineville, Oregon; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
