Marilyn, I was so sorry to read about Nancy's passing. I would run in to Nancy on occasion when she was working at the General Counsel's office as I worked in the same building. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.....

I first knew Nancy when she was a student at UI. Our paths crossed many times though the years. She was a wonderful person and I always enjoyed visiting with her.

I worked with Nancy at the Simmons, Perrine law firm for the duration of her tenure there. I continued contact with her throughout the years as we shared trials and tribulations of raising two sons. I recently moved and the last contact I had with her was the birthday card she sent me in April. I was surprised to see her obituary in the Cedar Rapids Gazette, but I know the last several years of her life were not easy and in many ways it is a blessing that her pain has been washed away. Rest in peace my friend!

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I worked with Nancy for 5 years when I became a new attorney at the University of Iowa Office of General Counsel. Nancy ran the office like a tight ship but we bonded talking about dinosaurs (of all things) because my nephew and one of her grandchildren were both into dinosaurs. So we'd spend hours exchanging gift ideas and talking about the young kids in our families. Those were the times when she truly exposed what a "softie" she could be. She taught me many things! She will be missed!
