Obituary of Carol J. Fox
Carol J. Fox “Fox” age 65 finished her fight with COPD and cancer on Friday, May 31, 2019.
Carol Jean Fox was born June 1, 1953 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Donald and Thelma (Kron) Fox. She graduated from Washington High School in 1971 and in 1973 moved to Iowa City and began a career with the former Sheller Globe Company (now IAC) retiring last year after 45 years. Her dedication to her work is just one of the many character traits that made ‘Fox” who she was. Fox was competitive and an intense sports participant playing on many softball teams over the years often coaching along the way. She was also a walking google of information and could recall sports facts on many teams in different sports, but was best when it came to the Iowa Hawkeyes, Oakland Raiders or LA Dodgers! She loved her truck and Harley motorcycle and enjoyed many rides over the years with good friends and family. Life just didn’t get much better if she could be riding and end up on her bar stool at the Hilltop to cap off a perfect day! What made her life complete was her family and friends, as she did for them. Fox formed many close friendships over the years and was a loyal friend and confidant to many from co-workers to her Hilltop family and several in between. Those especially close to Fox were dear friends “Z” (Karen Keith-Zamora) and Linda Kuncl who were always there for her, unconditionally, through the good and the bad.
Her family includes her life partner for over 40 years, Denise Davis; Carol’s siblings, Donald Fox, Duane Fox (Janice) and Russell Fox (Karen); nieces and nephews, Tim Fox, Shari Baggett (Bryan), Angela Halterman (Tyler), Jeff Fox (Jennifer Gowan), Carri Fox-Rummelhart (A.J.), Justin Fox (Hilary), Cullen Kron (Kathy) and Keely Fox (Robyn); Denise’s family, brother, William Davis (Kathy) and their children, Jason (Samantha) and Bryan (Jenna), and nephew Brett Miller (Michelle).
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Larry Fox and nephew Kevin Fox.
Services celebrating Foxes life that she shared with so many of us will be held from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, June 23rd at the Hilltop in Iowa City. To share a thought, memory or condolence please visit the funeral home website @ www.gayandciha.com.
