Brad Alan Peterson was born June 27, 1980, in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Dennis and Barbara (Bendon) Peterson. The family moved to the Indianola area where Brad attended and later graduated from high school with the class of 1999. He then went on to attend and graduate from the University of Iowa with a degree in business. He has spent his working career in business sales and rehabilitation services in this area. On August 11, 2007, Brad married Kelly R. Novak at the Chapel of Faith Church in Indianola. From their marriage came the pride of their lives, Brady (8) and Harper (3).
When people would describe Brad, often the words shared would be selfless, caring, kind, good sense of humor, always willing to help, sincere, avid crazy Iowa Hawkeye fan and Chicago White Sox fan. He lived to be the best husband and dad one could ever want and was the son every parent would wish for! Brad was a city boy from the start, but so loved living in the country after his marriage to Kelly. He loved raising their children and spending time with Kelly and other family and friends in such a beautiful place.
His family includes his wife, Kelly; their children, Brady and Harper; his mother, Barbara Bendon (Randy Gathers); his father, Dennis Peterson; grandparents, Mary Bendon and Mary Peterson; Kelly’s parents, Bill and Marcia Novak; her siblings, Jennifer and John Nau and William and Kirsten Novak; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends; and a man who Brad thought of as a second dad, Ron McCoy.
Brad was preceded in death by grandfathers, Kenneth Joseph Bendon and Darrell D. Peterson, and uncle Kenneth Edmond Bendon.
