Obituary of Thomas R. Anderson

Thomas R. “Tom” Anderson II, 61, of Coralville, died at his home under hospice care on Sunday, July 14, 2019.

Tom was born May 8, 1958, the son of Dr. Thomas Anderson and Helen Beard. He attended school in Decorah, Iowa, and graduated from the University of Iowa. He married Theresa “Terry” Larson of Decorah on August 5, 1978.

Tom’s family includes his wife, Terry; their children, Sarah (Chris) McCabe, Tom III (Jessica), and Blake; 4 grandchildren, Owen, Ezra, Luca, and Alahna; his parents, Helen Beard (Jim Bingham) and Tom (Ann); his siblings, Tami (Greg) Forstall, Tim, Teri (Kevin) Kimmes. His brothers and sisters-in-law include Mary Jane McArthur, Glenn (Bonnie) Larson, Norma (Gary) Hall, Karen (Mike) Meyer, Ken Larson, Pat (Kerry) Dolan, Arnie (Holly) Larson, and dozens of nieces and nephews on the Anderson & Larson sides.

Tom worked for many years in the automotive industry. His great passion was coaching his children’s sports, including softball, baseball, and youth football.

A private, family celebration of life service will be held in Decorah in August.
