Condolences
I was so glad that I got to meet Steve. He was the kind of person that made us feel so welcome from the first start. He treated us with warmth and kindness and we felt like we had known him all of our lives. We send our condolences to Linda and the rest of the family! He was one of a kind and one could tell from first meeting him, how much he and Linda loved each other.
Linda, I'm so very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was without a doubt one of the nicest guys God ever made. It can't be said enough about his smile and good nature. And a poor fellow Cub fan too! Cherish the memories the two of you shared. He will be missed but never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of your family.
I have not seen Steven in many a year, having taught for 25 years in Muscatine. Mother recently passed away and I bought the family house. I currently see the former Williams home from my porch window. I have so many wonderful memories of living near the Williams family. I so remember many a discussion on baseball and just hanging out with Steve as our backyards connected. I remember the many acts of kindness from the entire Williams family and am blessed to have had them as I grew up. Steven, Christie, and I shared similar life paths in education. Steven was a little younger but I sure appreciate his smile and so often saw his kindness.
I am so glad that Steve is hugging Jesus right now ... pain free. Claude, Carol & family, may our Father be your comfort during these difficult days.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I worked with Steve at hy-vee will always remember him for his kindness and contagious smile. He will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Steve. I got to know him while working at Waterfront Hy-Vee in Iowa City from 2002-2004. Steve and I found we were both "car nuts" so we were always talking cars together!!! Steve was one of the nicest, most sincere guys that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He always had a smile on his face and was always ready to help the next customer in line! He will be missed a great deal. Please know that all I am keeping all of his family in my thoughts and prayers during this time. RIP buddy, you are now drag racing up in heaven. Godspeed.

Remembering my dear friend, Steve, today with tears in my eyes but bittersweet tears knowing that he is healed and fully alive in the presence of Jesus! One of my favorite memories of Steve is sitting with him and Linda and singing songs of praise together! I'll also miss our double dates at Bandanas where we always had a great time. Loved going to concerts and enjoying his constant smile. I can imagine him in Heaven right now walking around arm in arm with the Lord and saying "Well, would you look at that! Isn't that something!" My love and prayers are with you Linda! and with the family as I know how much your hearts are breaking.
I am sorry to hear of the loss of Steve. I worked with him at the Coralville Randall's in the 70's and it was always glad to see my "Buddy". May it give you great comfort to know that he is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

I am a loyal Hy Vee customer and Steve was ALWAYS so nice whenever I was there. Please know how sorry I am for your loss. With love and prayers, Robin Staak
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I loved Steve as many others did and I feel so insanely grateful that I was blessed with his presence weekly over the course of my short Hyvee career. He was the first one that ever trained me in the kitchen and I can still remember his voice instructing me in how to best preform a task. I never stopped thinking about him nor do I think I ever will. His kindness and infectious spirit were immeasurable. Carol and Claude you raised a magnificent son and I just want to thank both of you for everything. My he rest in eternal peace and joy.
So sorry to hear! Love and prayers!
Linda, Jamie, Nelson and Caleb: My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Steve was a great man with an infectious smile. Heaven gained a true Angel.

I am very saddened over the passing of Steve. My thoughts are with the family. I just want to say thank-you for allowing me to be a part of your lives, it was certainly a pleasure. Never a sad face or a negative thought from him, always a smile. For me this next writing reminds me of Steve:
Life is like a journey taken on a train, with a pair of travelers at each window pane.
I may sit beside you all the journey through, or I may sit elsewhere never knowing you.
But if fate should make me sit by your side, let"s be pleasant travelers, it's so short a ride.
We are sending our condolences to the family...I knew Steve through Hy-Vee as a customer. He always had a smile and was a great guy! He always made me feel like I was the most important person in the world.
He will be sorely missed.
I worked with Steve at Hy-vee for 4 years, always did he have a smile on his face always ready to help. You will be missed!!
Claude, Carol, Christi, and Steve's family,
We were saddened to read about Steve's passing. I (Cindy) have lots of memories from a long time ago -- Jr. & Sr. High youth group at Bethany Baptist Church -- of your whole family. I am so thankful to God for the ways in which He used you to reflect the love of Jesus and bless my life.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers, asking God to comfort you and give you His peace that passes all understanding, during this very sad and difficult time in your lives.
Sincerely,
Steve & Cindy (Perkins) Mills
Steve is one of the nicest people I ever knew...always had one of the best smiles. I always loved working along side Steve. Loved all the talks we shared and fun we had working together for over 20 years. I will dearly miss you Steve.
My heartfelt sympathy to the entire family of Steve. He was the most thoughtful and caring person I know and will be deeply missed by everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
To all the family -- Claude, Carol, Christi & family and Steve's family -- may God's strength be with each of you. I hope you can think of Steve in Heaven, receiving the warmest, most loving hug from Christ himself as he welcomes him into His Kingdom! Hold each other close and treasure his life together.
Love, Shirley Bothell
To be absent from the body and to be present with the lORD, 2 Cor 5:5 We know that Steve is with Jesus right now and can be comforted by this. Praise God that He knew the Lord as his personal Savior.
Linda, Claude & Carol,
We were very sad, to hear of Steve's passing. We have been praying since we heard of Steve's fight with cancer. It is very hard to understand why God would call Steve home at this time. We are taught from the Bible to trust in the Lord. Our thoughts and prayers will continue for his family and friends to help you through
the sad times ahead. Please accept our deepest sympathy. Steve will be missed by all of us. May God "Bless your family"
