Obituary of Mary Ann Clemons

Mary Ann Clemons, 80 of the Iowa City area died Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at the Lantern Park Specialty Care Center in Coralville.

Memorial services will be held at 11am Monday, October 21, 2019, at the First Presbyterian Church in Iowa City, followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in her memory to the First Presbyterian Church or Care Initiatives Hospice.  To share a thought, memory or condolence with her family please visit the funeral home website @ www.gayandciha.com.

Mary Ann Buol was born May 10, 1939, near Monticello, Iowa the daughter of William and Mildred (Atchian) Buol.  She attended and graduated from schools in Monticello and later graduated from the State University of Iowa.  She married Norvall Clemons on September 10, 1960, in Monticello.  The couple and their family have lived in a number of communities in Eastern Iowa where Mary Ann worked as a writer and Journalist for various publications, including the Times Democrat, Press-Citizen and Mt. Mercy. She was a longtime and active member of the First Presbyterian Church, AXO Sorority, and the Iowa City Lions Club.

Her family includes her husband, Norvall; their sons and their wives, Scott Clemons and Nancy Hale; and Steve Clemons and  Pat Raes, grandson, Dylan.
