Dear Carl, Noble, Andrea, and all of the Sweeting family,
I am so grateful to the Sweeting family for giving me the opportunity to know Maxine; the earth has lost a beautiful soul.
I feel so confident that when Maxine passed to the other side that she immediately scooped up Suzette, Matthew, and Fox into her caring arms. And then she rejoiced at seeing Allan! Next she greeted her immediate family, and I feel so much JOY in my heart to know Maxine is very happy right now.
Maxine was the BEST and SMARTEST Euchre partner, once I trumped her ace but she was just happy that “we got our 3”. Maxine was more of a mom to me than my own mother could ever come close to being, she was truly there for me during the most difficult time of my life. And, what a terrific grandma she was to Andrea; she gave Andrea time and attention – always knowing that those 2 things are what is most important in a child’s life.
My deep and heartfelt sympathy to the Sweeting family at this difficult time. 71 years for Carl with Maxine – Carl, I can’t imagine your sadness and grief. Maxine was a treasure beyond words, please know you are in my thoughts for eternity.
Chris Iam so sorry for the passing of your wonderful mother . So glad to have remet her at your shop after so many years seeing her skating at the Coralville rink with your Dad ( as he carried Tonya ). The love she had for her family was so clear as she smiled so wide coming in to get her hair done with Tonya and talking about her kids. She is one of the brightess stars shining in the sky now . She has her hevan wings now . Julie
Tonya and Scott - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. May your memories bring you peace during this time. Kim Nissen
Best mother you could ever ask for. I love and miss you!
Aunt Maxine was truly the meaning of an awesome aunt. The fact she was my mom’s twin made her even more special! She was alway the “Yes” when mom said “No”. She was always there with a hug or words of encouragement when it was needed. She was an amazing person. I truly will miss her. She inspired me to travel the world, and I hope I have made her proud. I love you, Aunt Macky!
My sweet Aunt Maxine will be deeply missed by the entire Hughes family kids. Aunt Maxine was always fun to be with when we were growing up. Swimming in a pool in her basement was something we did when we were little...always fun times! Love you and know you are with Allen now. Prayers of comfort to my cousins and Uncle Carl. In God's love, Marla Barfield. (San Diego)
Sweeting family sorry for your loss! I always enjoyed playing euchre at the American Legion with them both. You are all in my prayers. Keep all the good memories in your hearts forever!
