Ron was my priest while I was at the University of Iowa, 1965 to 1965. We were friends and colleges for many years. He was instrumental in my becoming an Episcopal priest as he made the introductions to Bishop Smith that resulted in my being accepted into the Diocese of Iowa and the Maytag family endowment paying for my seminary education. Ron was a friend, confidant, mentor, and brother priest. He made me laugh, taught me all kinds of things, held me when I cried, assisted me in finding jobs, and introduced me to Praire Home Companion. I just received notification of his death from the Diocesan office in Colorado. I pray that his son and daughter know that he was a fine man, a great priest, and was well beloved by many people./
Rest in peace eternal,
Rev. Willian Waltz, ret.
