Obituary of Ida Evonne Wade

Ida Evonne (Djerf) Wade, age 82, died Monday, March 9, 2020 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born November 20, 1937, in Fort Dodge, Iowa the daughter of Oscar and Mae (Hicks) Djerf. After graduating in 1955 from City High, Iowa City, she attended the University of Iowa where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1960, and in 1981, her Master’s degree in Nursing. She spent most of her life in the profession she loved, retiring in 2017. She is survived by her sons William W. Wade, Stephen D. Wade and David A. (June) Wade; grandchildren, Jason J. Wade, Stephanie M. Wade, Brandon D. Wade, Nathan W. Wade, William Wade, and Jack Wade; daughter-in-law, Erika Wade; and her brother, Bill (Margaret) Djerf, and sister, Gloria Heston and many nieces and nephews. Ida was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Thomas R. Wade II. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, followed by a graveside service at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
