Maxine was my aunt, her husband was my mother, Margaret’s oldest brother. Visiting with Maxine meant having her undivided attention, interest and warm hospitality in her lovely home. Through correspondence over the years she offered me encouragement and affirmation as a writer. Her special bond with Colleen and her delight in her children was inspiring. She saw the specialness in each person and made a point of making sure it was mentioned. Maxine’s bright light shines out through her eyes in this picture of her, a light that glows within and warms all who knew and loved her.
