Condolences
Ashbys one and All, We are with you in you grief of losing you dear wife and mom. You lost her all those years ago and now you have lost her again. Corrine was one of my smartest, sweetest, dearest friend.
We will be downloading her service and know that we are there in spirit.
Hopefully when the world turns itself right again we can go to lunch and share our memories Jack but until then we are thinking and praying with you.
Jim & Ceil
Jack, my thoughts are with you at this time. I know this has been a long road for you but you were blessed to be with the love of your life. I think we were like kindred spirits while we cared for our wives and I know what a great job you did with Corrine. As you grieve the loss of this wonderful woman please don't hesitate to call me for support. --Kim Wall
Jack & Family,
We feel so fortunate to have known Corrine and enjoyed her friendship over many years. She was a kind,
gentle, considerate role model and a positive contributor to her community. Please know our thoughts are
with you.
Jack & Family:
My sincere sympathy to you on Corrine's passing. I well remember enjoying the art exhibits she coordinated at Lorenz Boot Shop for the Gallery Walks and also buying several pair of shoes there as well. You all made those some of the best days in Iowa City.
Sincerely, Jim L. Maynard
My sympathy to Jack and all of the family. We were fortunate to get to know Corrine and Jack as we spent many hours with them on the tennis courts. Corrine was a kind and wonderful person. I trust that God made her passing from this life to the next one an easy transition. God bless the family.
Reg Cooper.
Jack & family, I extend my deepest sympathy to you all on the loss of your wife and mother. I, too, lost my husband to Alzheimer's after a very long goodbye. It is a cruel disease. May God wrap his arms around you and comfort you during this time.
Leora Hein
Jack and family:
My sincere condolences on your loss.
Jack - you performed the hardest job that any of us can have, 24/7 caregiver for our loved ones, and you did it with grace, dignity, love, and compassion. You have been an example to me of what it takes and how it looks to do an almost impossible job very, very well. You are in my thoughts.
Steve Siglin
Jack and family,
Ours thoughts are with you in this time of loss. We understand the sadness and grief of losing your mother to Alzheimer’s and the unique situation of grieving in a non traditional way. Our hearts are with you...Kim’s mother passed on 03/17/20 of Alzheimer’s and we grieved while viewing the funeral and burial live steam from Florida (Patrick, Kim & Catharine) and Colorado (Connor). We enjoyed seeing Corrine walking in the neighborhood and at church when we lived on Lakeview Dr. She lives in your hearts forever! The Gordon’s (Patrick, Kim, Catharine & Connor)
Jack and Ann and the rest of the family,
Although I did not know her my friendship with both of you makes it important that I say that I am sorry to hear of her passing. Here is hoping that your many good memories of her life carry your through your time of grief. - John
Jack and family, I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Corrine. Having lost my own wife, Mary to this insidious disease just four months ago I know the loss you are feeling. Even with Alzheimer's she was still the great wife and mom you all cherished and loved for 65 years. I remember Corrine from my years working at Lorenz Boor shop. She was a great lady and it was always a pleasure when she would stop by the store. So friendly and outgoing. I know that you will miss her deeply. My prayers are with you all.

The summer of 1974 I traveled to visit family in Iowa. The simple kindness I received from Corrine still warms me. I was 17, an honor student who graduated as early as I could because I needed to escape from the non-stop fighting in my home. I'm sure Corrine did not feel she was doing anything special, which makes this special. We went to a great place called Things, Things and Things (as I recall the name) We had lunch there -a tasty beef sandwich with horseradish type topping. She listened to what I had to say, asked me relevant questions, offered no harsh criticisms and basically treated me as if I were a 'real person' . That sounds strange but that is how it struck me. I had purchased a cute little basket at TT&T. For years I would feel warmed looking at it because it reminded me of an extraordinary, ordinary afternoon. Aunt Corrine,Thank you. May you rest in Peace. Terri
Jack, your family and yourself have my deepest sympathies. Corrine was a delightful and gracious lady. May your memories of the good times bring you peace. Jerry Howe
To all who loved Corinne: We loved her too. She was such a thoughtful, gracious friend to all who knew her. There is a special place in the hereafter for you, Jack. She loved all of you so much. Our sincere sympathy, Marcie and Bill Frevert and the Freeman Four Cousins
