I knew Wade from BU. I was from south Florida and had never been to Boston. He helped move me into the dorm on my first day of freshman year. He was a junior and we both lived on the 4th floor of Claflin Hall. We hit it off right away!
I have so many great memories of that year. We stole fruit from cafeteria to make jungle juice for the 4th floor theme parties (Toga Party, punk party, etc). He was so charismatic and what a great dancer! He made me love Earth Wind and Fire, Quincy Jones and the Gap Band. He was just so fun to be around.
We used to hang out late at night and watch old reruns of The Love Boat. He was smitten with Julie the cruise director. He was famous for leaving notes with his original drawings in permanent marker on your door when he stopped by to visit. His artwork was amazing as well as his rhyming notes and poems.
When he could not return to BU the following year, we were all so sad. The place was just not the same without him. We kept in touch for a while after that, but eventually lost touch. I often think about him and the way he made my first year away from home so memorable. He will always have a place in my heart.
I am so sorry that he is gone. It is sad to think of a world without him.........
