He was my gym teacher for four years,, Horace Mann to City High.
Looking back , he was in my top four of all the teachers , He did a very good job.
I and many others were very fortunate to have him as a teacher.
I know for a fact his time with us kids was very appreciated.

My deepest sympathy to the entire family in the loss of your Dad, FIL and Grandfather. I was able to talk to Mr Chambers a few years back when his son Todd lived behind me. He knew who I was because he never forgot anyone and we talked like it had only been a few week since he taught me.... when it had really been 40 years. His smile was always a bright spot for any student at Central Jr High. If he was hard on you it was because he cared about you and wanted you to succeed in life. Thanks for all the fond memories that you left with so many students and athletes.
Happy moments, praise God - Difficult moments, seek God - Quiet moments, worship God - Painful moments, trust God - Every moment, thank God

I've always enjoyed visiting with Ted, and hearing his stories both from the business and from his teaching/coaching days. He was never bashful about sharing, and certainly expressed his gratitude for Jackie and all that she meant to him, and has been so thankful for the presence and assistance of his sons and their wives. I have been grateful to know him as a brother in Christ, and will certainly miss seeing his smile on Sundays.
I know and trust that his memories and stories are now coming flooding back, and I look forward to one day hearing them once again.
Thanks for sharing and bearing your soul, Coach. You will truly be missed around here.

Mr. Chambers taught at Central with my mother and she enjoyed working with him very much. I was fortunate to have had Mr. Chambers as a PE instructor and coach ~ a dedicated and enthusiastic man to say the least. Rest In Peace sir....heartfelt condolences to family and friends alike.
My condolences to all concerned and sending prayers. Me. Chambers is an indelible memory of my experience at Central Jr. High. At a time I was greatly troubled he went out of his way to reach out to me. God bless and Rest In Peace.
Sad to hear of Ted Chambers passing, as my PE instructor at Central Jr. High Ted came off as being rough around the edges but he was always there to help and really did care about the students.
I will never forget his famous saying.
"By God boy I've been teaching for 120yrs, are you questioning my abilities"...Rest In Peace Coach.
Our deepest sympathies. Our father, Howard Field, was a long-term business partner and friend of Ted's. If our dad was still with us, he would eagerly want to share his appreciation for Ted's partnership, friendship and trust. All our best to the Chambers family.
