Obituary of Darlene Witt

Darlene Witt, age 52 of Waterloo died Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City of natural causes. Darlene Seals was born October 28, 1967, in Osceola, Arkansas, the daughter of Frank “Son” Seals and Bernice Wesley. The family moved to Chicago and in 1985, Darlene graduated from Romeoville High School. Darlene was united in marriage to Robert Witt on September 5th, 1987 in Chicago. The couple moved to Waterloo in 1989 and she worked as a CNA at Cedar Falls Health Care. Spending time with family, laughing, and enjoying life made Darlene happiest. She also loved to cook, watch daytime t.v. court shows, and listen to country music and the blues. Her favorite flowers were sunflowers and she liked interior decorating. Her immediate family includes her children, Ebony Portillo (Carlos), Ariana Awan (Habib), Jamillah Witt, Aja Witt and Prince Witt; and her long-time companion, Tomien Harris. Darlene’s siblings include sisters Sandra Wesley of Hiawatha, IA, Katina Wesley of Hammond, IN, Felicia McIntosh of Chicago, IL, Freda Presberry of Waukegan, IL, Kinnie Presberry of Palatine, IL, Patricia Fondren of Orland Park, IL, Connie Seals of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Bonnie Seals of Cedar Rapids, IA; and brothers Frank Seals Jr. of Waterloo, IA, Rodney Seals Sr. of Hammond, IN, and David Presberry of Madison, WI. Darlene also had several step-siblings, nieces, nephews, her extended Witt family members, and many close friends who all loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and her sisters Jackie and Nettie. Family services will be held at a later time.
