Obituary of William Robert Juuns

William “Will” Robert Juuns (Juhl), 36, of Iowa City died on Sunday, August 30, 2020. William was born January 3, 1984, the son of Marilyn Burke and Randy Juhl. He was raised in Grand Mound, Iowa, and graduated from DeWitt Central Community Schools in 2002. On December 3, 2016, he married Jessica Stevens and together they have two children; son Moss, 3, and daughter Cleo, 1. In addition to his immediate family, William is survived by his brother, John Juhl; father, Randy Juhl of Grand Mound, IA; sister-in-law Kayla (Tyler) Claussen; nieces and nephews, Van, Max, Izabella, and Lillianna; grandmother, Frances Burke of DeWitt; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding William in death were his mother Marilyn (Leroy) Burke-Knutsen; grandparents Robert Burke, Virgil Juhl, and Ruth Juhl (Albert) Hasen. William always wanted to learn new things. He was committed to egalitarian principals and was a devoted co-parent. His favorite thing was spending time with his wife and children, and playing musical instruments with his family. He is a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1260. The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, September 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A memorial service will be held Sunday September 6th at 1:00 pm. Both visitation and service will be held at Gay & Ciha Funeral Home in Iowa City. William's service will be livestreamed on Sunday.
