Condolences
My name is Eugene. I remember Alex since he was a manager for Old Navy. When I come there every time, he was assisting me all the time in time of my work. I will always remember him greeting me with a wonderful smile on his face, in time I was at his work place. Sudden condition got him off work very very soon. I always thought in my mind that I will see him again at that place. But a grief news strike me too late. Always when I will come back at his place, I will miss him very very much. You was a wonderful manager!!! Thank you!!!! I'll see you again... .
Alex was a light in this world! He was such a well known face around Edison because he was joyful and kind. I loved his sense of humor. He was a student of mine in 6th grade that made being there fun. May he Rest In Peace.
It is with a heavy heart that I had to say good bye to Alex ! HE WAS JUST LIKE ONE OF MY OWN! He was not only my lawn mowing buddy but also a true friend! Even after he moved to Des Moines we stayed in contact ! He would drive to Sioux Falls and spend the whole day with me even in my 80's! One day he rode over on his bike to inform me he was moving to Harrisburg and I said "you'll like it there Alex-that was my hometown" He replied some day when you go to Harrisburg I will ride along and show you where im gong to live and I said lets do it now! As we drove down-we passed the Methodist Church and I replied-This is my church-this is where I worship . And he replied-ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN? I HE REPLIED-I WANT TO BE A CHRISIAN-CAN I GO TO CHURCH WITH YOU ? I REPLIED YOU SURE CAN BUT YOU HAVE TO OKAY IT WITH YOUR MOM ! THE REST WAS HISTORY -HE CAME WITH ME EVERY SUNDAY AND SOON BECAME A VERY FAITHFUL AND CHRISTIAN BOY WHICH HE LOVED ! I WILL MISS YOU ALEX !!

As a Principal at Edison I can tell you that Alex was a student I was glad to see every day. He just was the kind of student with a personality that I enjoyed talking to and being around. After he left Edison for LHS, he came back to talk once in awhile, which I really enjoyed. I even ran into him while he was working and he made sure I got a discount for what I was purchasing. My life was enriched for having known Alex. My deepest sympathy and prayers sent.
Alex was in my 7th grade classroom and he usually came back to my classroom the next year when he was an 8th grader to get candy or food. I hired him to work on my yard and other tasks after his 7th grade year. He was always willing to help and worked hard for me. We shared many laughs and I heard many stories from him. I enjoyed talking to Alex because he was willing to think about what we were talking about and if change was something that needed to happen, he took it seriously and would be proactive. He stopped in and talked to me a few times during his high school years, but all he really wanted was to be done with school and be on his own with all of his various business ventures and ideas. He definitely wasn't afraid to try new things! I am so sad his life was cut so short. He offered the world so many amazing things in the short span of his 22 years. I loved that kid and my heart is broken for all of his family left to go on without his presence here. I also know he adored his mama and respected her so much. Please know that.
Alex could talk anyone into anything, which is why he was always so good in sales. I remember one night after work, he was in the Edison parking lot and asked if I’d go to Des Moines with him that night to pick up a car that needed to be trailered to Sioux Falls. I told him that I had to work early the next morning since it was a school night. His reply, “don’t be old.” Somehow I agreed. He then proceeded to say, “oh yeah, I need to borrow $1,000 for the car.” Somehow I agreed again. As I was driving home to get changed for the trip, I remember thinking, “what did I just agree to?” As I got closer to my house, I remember saying to myself, “How in the hell, did he talk me into this?” It turned out being quite the adventure and I remember pulling into Sioux Falls at like 5 a.m. and went to work on half hours sleep! Only one Alex Oshry could have talked me into such a fiasco, but looking back it was a fun, eventful night!
So sorry for your loss. I had Alex in Pro-time and science in 6th grade and he is a name I will never forget. He was so kind to everyone and anyone, very helpful in the classroom, and had such patience and wisdom even at that young age. He always wanted to do right and tried hard to excel in anything he did. Sweet man that made a positive impact on anyone who had the privilege of getting to know him. xo Kaylee Koch (Keating)
I worked with Alex a number of years back and I always figured he'd go places in life. He was smart, quick to wit, adapted well, and remained constantly motivated. There were few people he didn't get along with. I always knew he'd do well for himself and lead a successful life, and it was good to know him, even if for only a short time. My condolences to you all.
Alex was a super nice guy with a big heart. He loved what he did and was kind and compassionate- I will miss him!
What an amazing young man! I had the privilege of really getting to know Alex at Edison Middle School. He was a joy and so giving and fun. He'd stop in my office daily just to say hi! This world has lost a wonderful guy with a great future. Heaven truly has a perfect angel now! All of my love and prayers.
